Labor Day Weekend

Great Pics Ron. Looks like a great time was had by all....memories that will last a lifetime.

Out of curiosity...were you in the water with the camera or on a dingy? Great shots...good job. How many more weeks do you guys have now to get out before the weather/water gets too cool to enjoy?

Hey John
I stole Dominic's (OSD9) dink. Along for the ride were two crazy 10 year old boys and Dom's FiFi-type lap-doggie (Pitsy), all trying to jump off and swim back. So I'm steering the dingy at idle speed with my knee, holding Pitsy's collar, snapping pix and talking the boys out of jumping off and swimming back. That's why one photo is sort of cock-eyed. It was a picture perfect day - a real blast. Problem is that reality sets in now. Shorter, cooler days, flyers with ads for pink antifreeze and dry storage bills coming in the mail. I'll be high, dry and covered to the waterline by the first week of October. :smt089

Point of clarification: In the "Admiral" photo, there is one captain pictured in the background. I could tell you who it is but then I'd definitely have to kill you !

Dang it. I knew I should have walked down to Chesapeake Bay yesterday. Jon, would have been a pleasure. The roll call has to be mixed up, or else Jon grew a flybridge.
Next year?

to clarify:
Port to starboard on your computer.

No Chesapeake guys here. All Barnegat Bay Joisey boyz. The manley part.

The roll call is for the pic 'below' the heading....the pic looking at the bow of the boats...

Ron....Great day....Saturday was the right-on call....you are the official New Jersey Cruise diretor....For ever!!!!

Frank (fc3)....did you find those extra 3 knots you were looking for?....amazing what 10' of 3/8" line wrapped around your prop will do to performance....

Dom, Linda told me not to worry abt her but I was petrified she was going to take a swim so I never let go of her!

Ron, Great Pictures, and a great raft up. It is nice to have a place to go that doesn't break the band in gas. It is evern better with friends like you guys... Thanks again for organizing the raft up...

The owner of Just Ducky needs to seriously straighten out that antenna...

sheez...

Hey Ron,
This was one of best raftups and I'm glad that everyone was able to make it. We had a great time and noticebly most of the folks stayed much later than usual. We can't ingnore some interesting moments when wind shifted 90degrees and "One Sweet Day" was the only boat holding the raft on it's anchor while few others ended up under our boats and couple were crossed. This was the time we had demonstrated to all spectators how to fix the situation and get things under control having pull Jon's anchor by hand, using "Boat A Bing" to position the raft to the point where all other anchors were alligned and "Just Ducky" could have retreaved his anchor. To add a little more fun we have rearranged the raft (as some boats had to get back home) by sliding them from the middle of the raft. I'm sure that others near by thought we're creazy bunch, but we sure looked like we knew what we were doing.

Here are few more pics:

fc3 used the opportunity while Dominic had all the scuba gear on to check his underwater gear. Dom was able to find and safely retreave what looked like 15-20' of line wrapped around Frank's prop. So, that's pretty much how Frank had picked up those 3knots he lost some time ago.
:)))

Yes Alex it was a funny scene. Did you catch the part when my son came down the steps and pushed me in? I went in, hit the side of the tube and flipped my wife over!
I agree, it was one of the best raft-ups we have been too!

Sorry I missed that scene James, it would have been awsome calendar cover shot. We had such a great time that I spent only few minute to take my dinghy out and do some quick pictures.

Great pics, Sorry I missed it. My whole weekend was pretty much shot having to go to work sat eve and sunday. I had to cancel my block island trip with Dave.

Friday night, got to the boat late, headed to a close by place. Took the dog to the beach and she sliced her foot open on a sharp shell. My dinghy looked like I murdered someone on it by the time I got her back to the boat. Did some first aid and bandaged her up on the swim platform and then washed the dinghy.

Drove back to the city sat, worked, drove back to the boat sunday eve. Went back out and the wind was blowin. bounced around all night long in the wind and waves, thought both girls were going to hurl on me in the middle of the night. On the way out, a 2 beep alarm went off, after a little hunting it ended up being a nickle size filter off the AIC valve. replaced that.

Got back to the marina monday eve to find that a group of transient dockers caused some trouble at the dock. Stole some fishing rods, ripped someones canvas fishing with the stolen rods. Stole all the tomatoes from a guy growing them on the dock. kicked everyones lines in the water. cops were there etc...

Wasn't quite the way I had the weekend planned but it was still better than digging a ditch.

Too bad you had to work... Saturday was one of the best days of the summer... Sunday and Monday were among the worst... We may have some good week ends coming up. I find some the best boating in our area is in Sept and early Oct...
