kicker motor sutability for 1987 268

Hi,
I mounted a 9.9 on a motor bracket off my swimplatform. It seems pretty sturdy and wondered if anyone else has done this.
The kicker is a 1981 9.9 longshaft johnson.It has electric start and a alternator.I also changed the prop to a seven pitch model

did you add any extra support from the motor mount to the transom. It is probably plenty strong without any support but I would not trust the strength of a piece of plywood with a fiberglass cover.
