Just wanna drills holes and let it sink!!!!!!!!!

HI! Don't the Marinas up there sell non-ethanol based gas? The marinas I've gone to at Lake Lanier all advertise their gas is non-ethanol. I would rather pay the $4.85 gallon price for that rather than the $3.85 price at a gas station for ethanol
based gas.
I was having problems with my OMC235 (ford351) carb andd got rebuilt.. Also found out my shift lever was bad and causing starting problems. I just asked for admission to the "Hole-In-The-Water-Club" (HITWC). You sound like an over qualified member already.

I live near buffalo ny cant find a ethanol free gas anywhere and up here its $4.85 on water anyway.I do have some new news fuel pump was shot holes in diaphrams also harmonic balancer was coming apart and gas has water in it and smells bad.I got a parts catolog for my engine has part #s in it new balancer and pump on the way.Im gonna have carb rebuilt just because i dont know if its evr been done since 1975.TANK IS GONNA BE DRAINED today all 30+ gallons cause ive got $$$$$ to burn. new pump and balancer on the way.
PS TO MAGONZO $350.00 ITS YOURS LOL

Update! repair shop took 2 gallons of water from my tank and 30 gallons of gas.Its winterized now guy is supposed to start going through it in march
fingers crossed but im not holdn my breath. I still think its a ford problem
first $1500 takes

Just a note on the ethanol fuel: water absorbtion is not the big issue, it is the fact that it will eventually separate into a very week burning layer of fuel that settles to the bottom of the tank. This can start after a few weeks of sitting depending on water content, humidity, condensation etc.. I personally had this issue. Engines seemed to run perfectly until put under load, then just no horsepower. Boat would not plane.
At least ethanol/bad fuel is taken out of the equation now that your tank is empty - best of luck.

I personally don't think your problem is the fact that your motor is a ford 351. I have the same motor in my 1977 Sea Ray 220 srv. The boat had sat in storage for 5 to 7 years. When I went to look at it before buying, the owner started it up with no problems. I bought it, took it to my local boat shop had them go through it and the motor is sound. No problems with the carb, fuel pump or any gaskets. This is impressive considering it sat for so long in storage. My engine is the 351 with 233 hp. Boat tops out at about 30 miles per hr. If the motor has been taken care of I would guess that there is some kind of a fuel problem. Good Luck.

Im sure part of it i really just dont like fords plus parts seem double the price.when i was a heavy equip operator at a few marinas it seemed the most issues were with fords.I hope this guy can get it running and change my opinion. Id still like to put a chevy in it

UPDATE ENGINE RUNNING!!! guy found out ethnol gas has turned to varnish destryed fuel pump and carb new fuel pump and rebuilt carb drained tank and 30 gallons ethnol free gas in it running like a swiss watch.Do your selves a favor DO NOT let ethnol fuel sit for longer than a month it breaks down and if not full tank pulls moister in i found a marina near me that has E free gas.Now just need to figure out overheat prob witch is pointing more to gauge or sending unit i pray thats it.Launch is on sat!

now get out and enjoy it. :smt038

Good advice: Run the boat (to use the gas) and keep the tanks FULL (to minimize condensation)...

I keep Reward's tanks full, and I load them with stabilizer and Fuel Injector cleaner...no problems in 5 years...

So hey 1973.. still got your boat? What did you do with it?

I have the same boat but a 220 with the same problem found that two condenser we put in were wrong found a good on problem went away don’t even know what a condenser does lol but it worked
