Is your slip rental increasing?

Price is the same but I consider it a decrease because of the incentives they added.

We got to pick one of three incentive offers. The one we picked was $250 of shop labor. I already used it. I don’t remember the others for sure but I think the options were 3 boat washes or some fuel credit.

In addition they upgraded the TV to a big flat screen in the club house. We had a big tube TV.

They also added a new big stainless grill. They don’t want us to use our grills on the boat when at the marina so they provide grills and gas plus one charcoal grill + charcoal for those that want to use it.

I love food cooked over natural charcoal it’s just too much work and takes too long so I use gas grills.

$1,650 total for the full season. Includes uncovered slip with dock box, power, water, club house with showers, gated secured parking, on-site mechanics, and very basic supplies for sale. Ice machine onsite but we pay for ice by the bag. It’s a honor system with a mail box that has a slot to insert the money.

The marina also gives us a couple of parties per year with food, beer, soda, snacks, music. Nothing fancy but neither are we so it’s a good fit.

We are paying $4450 for an uncovered 12' x 36' slip. Water and electric are included. No increase the past two years and given the number of empty slips I don't see one coming for a while. Management abandoned a plan last year to start submetering electricity. I guess that qualifies as a rental rate reduction.

ours went up about $30/month for a 40' covered. Now we are about the same as the other similar quality on the lake but we're getting full form all the boaters moving form a couple that were damaged in the tornado outbreak this month.

We pay $3600 for a 28' open slip with water and electricity (for $11 per month extra). Rates stayed the same for 2011.

It's amazing some of these prices. I mean honestly when and where do they stop? Over $5k for a 37 DA? Holy crap! Over $10k for a 360? Holy double crap! That's just an amazing amount of money to store a boat. I can only imagine what it 'used to' cost say 50-60 years ago as compared to today's dollar. I would truly be interested in knowing.

I have really thought about this, I think I will use the slip to the end of June and pull out. That money can go towards a swim platform and I am small enough to trailer to closer lakes. It would be different if I was not 3 hours from the boat.

I pay $3.00 per foot in the summer and another $3.00 in the winter. plus $500 dues $100 electric and I need to work 16 hours around the yard (hauling boats working on docks etc.) the bonus is we are in fresh water in the river and in Boston Harbor in 20 minutes! I am very lucky!!
