This boat is my brothers. It was given to him and told it was a 1980 Somerset and that it is actually made from a old SeaRay mold. Does anyone have experience to know if this may be true?

I thought Somerset built house boats??

I think there may be a difference between Somerset and Sumerset. But then looking at stardust it looks like they were called stomerset as well so i do not know

But although it looks like Somerset started in TN it does not look like it is tied into Sea Ray at all. Maybe others will know.

Hey Wesley, Looks like we hit the same Google search. Was wondering if the cruiser line they purchased in Chat. TN could have come from some of the old sea mold maker/engineers??

Somerset or Sumerset...you say tomato!

I assumed it was "Somerset" but I don't know for sure. The boat came from the Lake Cumberland, KY area. There is a city on the easternmost part of the lake called Somerset.

I always thought the houseboats were made by "Somerset" but after a quick internet search there are several Houseboat manufacturers down there: Sumerset, Jamestowner, Stardust, Lakeview, Sharpe, and Thoroughbred.

I don't even know if this boat could have possibly been made by Sumerset. There have been so many changes in the industry since 1980!
