Is there not any 500 sundancer owners on here

We have a 1991, had it for 16 yrs. All I know is the early ones are built like tanks. I am guessing there was not much change in construction through the model run. I think we are getting ready to sell ours, but I see we are on opposite coasts. I would like to downsize to a 370DA or similar.

I think some were cored hulls and others were not. You can call sea ray with the serial numbers and they can provide a build sheet with more info on the specific boat

So I used one of those ozone generators on the boat yesterday. I always had a little musty smell on boat. I cleaned her up really good last year but noticed it was very stale after sitting in that dotage building all winter. Amazon had a coupon code on warehouse items so I gave one a try. I used it today. I started in each room. First the master then the second bedroom and lastly the kitchen/salon area. I closed off doors to each room to really concentrate. It said about 15 min for the size area of each room but I let it run for 30 in each. I threw it in the cockpit last when I left this afternoon. I’ll be interested to see how it does. I had used one of these on a car before where someone violently puked all in it and just could never get that sour smell out. Especially in the heat of summer. It did wonders. Hoping this will do the same. I left the hvac on to help circulate as well.
mill report back this week on effectiveness

So this thing worked really well! I ran it through every room in the cabin and also in cockpit. Closed off doors and let it run about 30 min each then repeated the cycle. I left the have systems on to circulate. It got that dead stale smell out of the boat from sitting in a building for 6 months. YMMV but it was worth it to me. Remember nothing beats a good cleaning though

Curious what people have replaced the trash compactor with in the galley?

We don't have a compactor, we have a ice maker. I will assume in same location in galley "island" cabinet.

Yes that’s it,
It’s very narrow for an ice maker and we have one of those in cockpit. Thought about maybe making it a pull out trash/ recycling bins or wine fridge

We are thinking about removing the ice maker and have a door made for that opening. The cavity goes all the way out to the hull. Massive storage.

makes me feel lazy! There are some very nice upgrades here. They use blinds to replace the curtains very inexpensive and looks cleaner IMHO.

Great video! My friend sent it to me a week ago or so in response to the 500 dancer I'm working on. Some great updates/upgrades. My favorite is the dash.

Funny, a week before you post this I took the icemaker out. Didn’t made a picture at that time but now I made... A lot of storage space, just for me and nothing in it for my girl :)

What great idea for a dash! I would feel comfortable replacing but not rewiring. Did you find this procedure on the net?

Rewiring is easier then you think.
All the gauges need 12/24V ignition and ground wire. You can make a loop. The same with backlight wire. Then all gauges need a sensor wire. When you take old gauges out mark the Sensor cable and you are oke.

when you replace the panel with the switches, just unscrew the nuts and push switch out. Change the switches you want to change and done.

Marc you make it look easy, I have been fooled by that before ! Iam interested , that really make the boat look newer. Do you have any educational info on the making of the dash?

Gonna write you a tutorial this weekend. It’s really a easy thing to do.
Just recieved the axiom 12+rv. Panel above I am in doubt for a screen for an axis camera or another axiom.
Looking for another steering wheel too on carbon
