Bush spent us broke, Obama is spending us even more broke. It's not a republican or democratic thing, its an American thing. Our gov't was founded on the notion that big gov't is bad, politics should stay local and states should have more power than the feds. Both parties are out of control.
Quite frankly way too much emphasis, blame and credit is given to the office of the president. The real problem is those 535 congress men and women that are living in another dimension far from reality. :smt013
You gotta love how anytime someone doesn't like what Obama does, the canned response is "Well Bush did blah blah blah".
This reminds me of about 20 years ago when I came home and had a $75 speeding ticket. We were not doing very well financially... My wife that night then went out and bought a $150 dress and said "If we have enough money for you to speed, we have enough for my new dress." We didn't have enough for either... Obama is acting like my wife.

Based on the fact that he can't do any of those and any body that thinks he can I've got some great ocean front land I'll sell you in the mountains.
Has nothing to do with his party. The point is this the way the US is going to act in the future.
Sounds more like kindergarten to me..... Sending some else to tell them I'll be your friend if you be my friend....

Yes, and even Cuba's current leader had the dignity to come out and offer up an olive branch personally. Like it or not, he took responsibility, not some flunky in his PR office.

You Know what,
I would be willing to bet that most on this forum that complain about the government have never served their country. I and quite a few others have put our life on the line so you could have what you have.
I am a disabled veteran who had a promising career and Viet Nam cut my life ambitions short. I loved boating and many other things before Viet Nam and still do. I was married had two kids could not work because of disabilities could not do what my heart wanted as many of you have been able to do.
I with my disability payment from your taxes allowed me to send my kids to colleges that were adequate and they are doing well.
I can only wonder what I could have accomplished only if??
I live with the ghosts of war on a daily basis and am proud to have had the opportunity to help my country through their mistakes. It is still my country and I would do it all again if asked.
Many veterans gave up their desires and their life for our country right or wrong. If all you have to do is complain about our country's shortcomings give something. Invite a veteran or their family to join you for a day trip on the boat and just say thank you.

Previous efforts didn't do us very well. And I supported that.
I am sure that everyone believes a wounded war veteran deserves to be taken care of by tax dollars. No argument there and I'm sorry. However, I believe it's a cheap shot to tell others they can't voice an opinion on the role and actions of our government unless they "served their country." Although I've never been enlisted I have worked for the government for 14 years and after I left civil service have paid enough in taxes that I've essentially bought the government several brand new 60 foot yachts. I have every right, along with yourself, to try and influence the out-of-control BONEHEADS spending more money than they should.They are acting like out-of-control teenagers with a brand new credit card.
Blind faith in idiots is not what defines the "American way".

I am not saying that you do not have the right to dispute what is going on. I Just do not approve of all the negative being pointed out and not the positive being appreciated.
Congress has sucked over the past 50 years and is getting worse whichever party is in. I for the life of me can not figure why someone would run for any office other than to become rich.
This country has gained more respect in the past 2 months than it lost in the past 50 years.
Just my opinion today and I reserve the right to change my opinion. Along with all of you.

I have to sound the BS alarm on this one. If you mean "respect" in that other countries like us better because our President is cutting spending on things that make us safe, apologizing for things that weren't our fault, and putting our economy in the same level of ruin as the rest of them, then you are correct. They like us better.
You HAVE to know that they are laughing their asses off.
China has been fighting an economic war with us, and winning. Obama's policies have helped them.
North Korea and several other countries as well as the various groups of people that want to kill you, me, and our families would love to come here and weaken our defenses to make it easier for them to kill us. Obama's policies have helped them.
The middle eastern countries, who besides wanting us dead, also want to break our backs by making us work our asses off and send all of our hard earned money to them for the mother's milk of industry and progress - oil. Obama's policies have helped them.
All of the 3rd world countries who despise us because we have running water, refrigerators full of food, flush toilets, running water, climate controlled homes, automobiles, SEA RAYs, etc.. They would love to see our standard of living lowered. Obama's policies have helped them.
Can't you just open your eyes and look at what is going on. America was created as a judeo christian conservative nation. Over the past 50 years, there is one change that is as obvious as the nose on your face, more secular liberal government. People answer "wrong track" everytime they are polled, yet they are too stupid to see that it is the liberals that are destroying us.

If you can find a conservative on this board that wouldn't agree that we should take complete and total care of any of our veterans who were disabled while serving their country, then I will personally reregister them as a Demorat or shoot them to put them out of their misery, their choice. I'd stop paying people who don't work to have babies, and serve you vets up a real comfy ride for your sacrifice. THAT's conservatism. Help those who earned it. :thumbsup:

Today, I am in general amazed by the pervasive partisanship that oozes from not only the "mainstream media" but also that new-fangled internet thing. It is amazing that for many blogs, I don't have to even open the web page to know what has been written.
And I do appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of Veterans. In my time, I have known a number of WWII veterans. .. that fought on both sides of the conflict.
