Hi Guys. Subject says it all. Tried to order on line. It asks what country you belong to but addressing seems to be focused on US only. My SR dealer in Auckland says he can't get any burgees from SR either. Tried to get a burgee from the Sea Ray shop but the cost of postage put it at around $US110. Hmm thought that was a little too much for tiny pennant no matter whose logo it had on it.

Bottom line, I guess we're on another planet so far as access to this stuff is concerned ! Does anyone have any other ideas? Any of our ANZAC cousins out there with another source in Australia?

Regards

Terry

Have you tried the BOE Marine website ? Type in CSR burgee in the advanced search feature. $35.00 (USD), sorry don't know what the shipping will be.

Thanks Dasch Boat, yea I tried the BOE site but that's the one that doesn't seem to accept orders from other than the US. :smt017

Unfortunately they are the only ones that sell the CSR burgee, they own and created this site.

Having been to your beautiful country and Scott Base many times with the USAP (89-90 through (98-99....I would be happy to purchase one for you and ship it south.....

I know that we were embargoing Cuba...and perhaps some mid-east countries...hard to keep track of who and why. Perhaps there is some military/industrial/economic leverage in keeping burgees from NZ. Without express permission from the US State Department, the Coast Guard, DNR, and your local harbormaster...I would be very hesitant to interfere with our well thought out US geopolitic...just sayin'.

Thanks for the concern Jedi, however,There is no embargo against New Zealand, they are one of our most loyal allies, second only to England, need to brush up on US history.....We have a Navy / Air Force presence down there for support of the Military Airlift Command flights.....OUR American flag flies proudly down there IF the State Department has a problem with it....I'm sure that they will contact me.....
Offer Stands Lord Farringdon.....
Cheers

My tongue was firmly planted in cheek. I probably should have made that clearer.

LOL MY BAD sorry Jedi......pretty new here and still getting used to folks posts....sorry.....but I wouldn't send one to Cuba......grin

My wife agreed with your original post. She thought I sounded way too serious.

It is, however, a shame when we all realize that some people really think that way...

If I can help with the export, give a shout.

Hi Guys,
Firstly let me thank you both for those kind offers but then, what else do I expect from fellow SR owners on this great site.:smt038
JediJD I could tell you had tounge in cheek when you said "Perhaps there is some military/industrial/economic leverage in keeping burgees from NZ." LOL. I think you and I both know that the only people trying to keep SR burgees out of New Zealand are Bayliner owners!!

Pete, great to hear from a fellow traveller to Antarctica. I was in charge of the Cargo Handlers and Passenger Reception folks at Operation Deep Freeze Christchurch from 85-87. We organised the passenger and freight for the US Navy ski-equipped C-130 Hercules, the USAF 141 Starlifters and our own RNZAF C130 Hercules. I remember one season even facilitating an Air National Guard Herc to McMurdo. I spent 28 years in the Royal New Zealand Air Force and for a large number of those years flew seasonal flights to McMurdo Station. Longest time I ever spent on the ice was only three weeks though. Long enough for me!

I am very proud of a Citation I received from the Secretary of the US Navy for my involvement in the US Antarctic Research Programme during my time at Operation Deep Freeze and I made a great number of friends from all over the US during that time. It seems like our paths almost crossed! I hope you had plenty of time to see our country when you weren't 'ice happy' at Mac station. Thank you for your kind offer regarding the CSR burgee and PM is on its way.

Regards
Terry

Just where does Canada rate on your "most loyal list"? :smt013

Surely higher than Italy on Germany's most loyal allies list

BTW I'm having trouble in creating a new account on BOE... no way of typing my phone number in the international way i.e. +39........

Elec Dr.....
Canada is a Crown Colony, and comes under the Queen of England's rule, as is NZ and Australia....Did not mean to slight our Canadian friends to the North.....I should have been more inclusive when I said England, to include all of the English territories....
Sorry about that.....My apoligies

Uh oh...Has anyone told our Canadian friends that they are under the rule of the Queen of England. It may come as a big surprise:wow:. I believe they are under the illusion that they are independant.

Their loonies are going to crash into the ground !!.

I can't say how I know. :smt021. Just sit back and watch !!.

And speaking of illusions, what exactly were you hallucinating on when you basically stated that we are not aware of our origins. We of all people on this planet are more than aware of what the British Commonwealth stands for. That would almost be the same as me stating that your independance is an illusion. :smt018:smt018 Just don't go there!!

Same goes for Australia and NZ, whilst we owe much of our history to England we are all well aware that the British government was doing it for their own good. Pretty similar in fact to the early days and colonisation of the US

And for the record my ancestry is English with a bit of Irish thrown but I am definitly Australian.

Now after being part of the thread hijack I need to work out how I can get a CSR Burgee down under .......

Cheers

Firstly, you might consider supporting the CSR site at the Platinum level and then send a pm to Jim to grovel for a free burgee. You may be surprised at his response. You will probably have to arrange the shipping though. And if you still believe in the tooth fairy, you may even be lucky enough to have a fellow CSR member travelling to your part of the world in the near future who will deliver it for you?? You could even start a thread to look for such a person. Good luck with your quest for the coveted CSR Burgee.
