Is boat too big to trailer??

You were doing something wrong to catch their eye to stop you then.

Whats the rest of the story ??. :smt001
.

Its a lake with lots of big boats. Apparently they watch for over width boats closely. Later in the year I did see them sit across the street watching the launch, just waiting to pounce.

Gotcha., Those rotten SOB's. :smt013
We have a bar that the village police use to drive 2mi's across the village line to see who was at this bar . :smt021
Then stop them when they went into the village.

The bar owner b*tched so much that the cops can no longer go near there. :smt001

Hey guys i'm back,

someone bought the truck when i called, it was sold.

however i found another truck that i would like to have, it's 1989 Ford F250 4x4 5.8L.

My question is, is 5.8L strong enough to handle towing? or do i keep looking for another F250 with 460 7.5L?

Thanks!

I'm pulling my 92 270 Sundancer with a 92 F250 5.8 automatic. I have a very steep ridge to pull on the way home and it likes low range with the front hubs unlocked to do it.

If you can find a 460 you better go for it. It's all the 351 wants to make the ridge.

Take Five... I don't think it is a good idea to tow your boat for daily use :smt021.... You live near the water and likelihood of you taking the time to put the boat in and out of the water for a day's use is small:huh:...

If I were you, I would ask around and see if you can keep your boat on someone's bulkhead near you. It should only cost you about $500 for the summer. (No I don't have room at my bulkhead)

When your boat is the water you will use it more often. A boat that size does not make a good lawn ornament, it needs to be in the water. I do recommend you towing your boat to the put in the water in the spring, and to put for winter storage.

Hey guys, i would like to update since i like to let everyone know the result (like if someone asked what's wrong with the engine and someone would recommended something and the OP doesn't report back if it works or not. you get the idea LOL)

I got 1987 Ford F250 supercab 8ft bed with 7.5 (big block 460) with 4spd manual (it included transmission cooler). I love the truck! I can put my 2 kids in backseat and wife in front. The truck tow like champ! Love those leaf spring, it didn't squat much and it really powerful 460. I am so used to my F150 and it's a nice ride, with the F250, I would run over a quarter and I would felt it! it's a stiff ride. Love the 80s truck just like i love 80s sea ray sundancer style. and the best part about the 8ft bed (i'm a cabinetmaker) i finally able to load up plywoods or any woods and locked the cab. (protected from thief or rain), my F150 is shortbed and plywoods stick out, no more wrapping with plastic if it raining.

I appreciated your comments and thoughts. I didn't use my boat often this year like i thought. i was able to save boatload of money by bringing it home and tow once in a while. It wasn't good season but family/house comes first. Let hope 2012 would be better than 2011. Thanks!

I see 25' boats all the time at the launch ramp, Does not seem to be a problem - Your truck for that distance should not be a problem.

I have to agree, if we were towing the sea ray for everyday use it wouldn't go out as much. We use our CV 23 Glastron Carlson for day cruises and the Sea Ray for the multi day use.
It's much more hassle with the big boy at our small launches. We try to do our loading and unloading in the off hours which isn't the weekend!
