I saw this on another forum, but looked at what happened on the west end of Lake Erie with all the high winds they had over the weekend. The west end of the lake just emptied out. Here's the original posting. http://www.boatered.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=91674

i'm sure that marina owner is preparing bills for all those folks for dry storage now also :smt089

Wonder how much water is left? Looks like the first one is sitting on mud.

Doesn't look good. :smt009 once again happy to be from the PacNW. We may not have the best weather for boating all year, but we do have water all year....regardless of the wind.

BTW it's dipping down to 24 tonight :smt021

sheeshhh.. I was trying to figure out what Dave was talking about ...

It looks like our dock now.. sighhhh :smt009

But its a good thing the Sundeck has the front ladder

ok.. our water didn't blow out tho! lol

There was a related thread here about this happening in an east coast sound or bay somewhere. Weird ... the opposite used to happen every winter in my home town. High winds blowing onshore preventing the tide from flowing out so with every tide the water rose. These are called Storm FLoods in my home town Hamburg, Germany and our Dutch friend here knows exactly what I am talking about. They can get as high as 30 feet or more above normal flood stage.

That first step from the dock to the boat can be tough in those conditions.

It not the fall that get you, it the stopping that hurts :smt043

I may be looking at the picture wrong but they all seem to be sitting in the mud.

We had some heavy NE winds Friday night into Saturday morning. I had to put out the fender boards becasue the water got very high and the rub rail went over the pilings....then...as the strom moved North, we caugth the back side of the storm and the winds turned WSW at a constant 40MPH.....by Sunday Afternoon, I had to step DOWN to get on the boat......

Yesterday, I went for a ride on the Toms River....I had a tough time just getting out of the main canal of my development....I read as little as 1.9 feet (under the keel).....

While pulling into a local marina for fuel, (OGYB 2.50/gal after BoatUS Discount) a 40ish sailboat ran aground in the entrance channel...it was a soft grounding and the tide was on the way up.....he was off ground before I finished fueling....while I was fueling up, a '97 450DA was just finishing and he BARELY got off the dock with enough room to get by me and the sailboat AND stay in water deep enough....

Just looked out at the dock and it appears like the water level is back to normal....... :smt038
