I was bringing the boat home from the storage marina Friday and had just passed under the 31 lift bridge and cleared the red channel marker to my starboard. I'm looking at a new Rinker that was on heading that would cause us to collide in about a minute, and I thought to myself, "This guy does not know that I have the right of way." Then I figured out that he did not think he would to run into me because he was heading across the river to the Grand Isle Marina. The only problem with his plan was the 18" water depth. Not to be deterred, he soldiered on until black mud was spewing out from beneath the transom of his boat. I slowed down and watched as he and the wife discussed the situation. Not sure how they got out of there.

Of course he had the right of way. He was in a Rinker and you were in a Sea Ray.

Everyone knows “R” is ahead of “S” in the alphabet so he would be the stand on vessel.

Did you try to hail him on the VHF to warn him of the thin water?

SBW1 in a Sea Ray ....no way would he be caught in a Sea Ray....really :smt101

yeah, i'm sure said rinker-owner was monitoring ch 16

maybe darwinism wont cause this guy to perish, but maybe his ignorance will piss his wife off just enough to make him get rid of his boat (making the waterways safer for us all).

Hey Wes! Leave the agitating to the pros. We all have our roles, don't cha know.

Can you imagine the chutzpah of that Rinker guy to actually interpose his boat ahead of a Tiara? Philistine!

Best regards,
Frank

Well SBW1 at least he did a lil dredging for the rest of Us...I know where that is and I haven't been there much at all, but I know there isn't that much water beneath the 31 lift bridge. I'm glad you got to sit and watch them, and not get injured....Keep safe.

There you go again. Be a moderater, not an agitator.

Not trying to be an agitator just trying to keep false information off the board. The quote in reference which I corrected (unless I was wrong and you were on a Sea Ray, which from reading all of your postings I seriously doubt) seemed to be at least a decade off.

Then at least get your facts right. Four years ago is not a decade.

Sorry I missed your ownership in your signature. I just recalled the last one was a 93 that was bought new, I try to keep up with everyone but it is hard when people don't put there information in their signature. I take back the decade part.

I do have a question, were you really in a Sea Ray? come on just between me and you

why, WHY do we here at a SEA RAY OWNERS GROUP tolerate bullshit like this. That was one of the reasons SRO was formed. To get AWAY from idiots bashing Sea Rays.

sorry but this whole tangent has gone COMPLETELY over my head :huh:??
