Ice In Your Marina?

All clear in New Buffalo and Michigan City. I took a ride today on a friends 17 Regal that he just bought and the boss' 31 Tiara from Michigan City to his slip in New Buffalo! Lake was like glass until about 4 and it started kicking up again, BEAUTIFUL DAY!

We are about 90% open at Southbay marinia in Green Bay WI.

Ice is what you put in your cocktails.

OK well No Ice on the west Side of Michigan, was there today and it was very nice, although no boats in the water yet..
It's getting claser to spalsh day........

North Shore and Barrett's are launching now. We had 3-4 boats go by this past week end. Fisherman for the most part.

YES VIRGINIA THERE IS A SANTA CLAUS- McKinley Marina South section in Milwaukee, Last weekend was in mid 60's here, Waxed the hull and platform. Strong winds yesterday blew the ice into open water. Looks like we are tentive for 17th!

It seems This has been a winter from my childhood. 98 inch.

Went in yesterday and took her for a 3 hour spin. The wind was blowing from the south so there was also only very minimal debris visible in the lake.

Only saw 2 boats on the lake and about 6 in the marina, but I'll take it

Lake Winnebago checking in (NE Wisconsin)

We still have probably a good 6-8 inches on it. It has not yet "honeycombed" nor turned black...2 indicators it is ready to go!

I know I am

AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard the dreaded blizzard warning phrase for parts of the upper mid west on TV today. The folks in Wisconsin and Michgan's UP have experienced a brutal winter. Hopefully the trade off will be higher lake levels. Lakes Michigan/Huron are currently 5"-6" below chart datum. This should change to about chart datum by June.

Some good storms here for 2 days. Snowing w/lightning and thunder, stong gusty winds. Unless we get some warm weather and sun we probably will have ice on some lakes till after May 1. The stetched out winter is a drag but we need the moisture and I'll take any way we can get it.

SBW, I was reading on NOAA that, Lake Huron is already up 6 "above Chart Datum and the expect Lake Michigan to come up as well in late spring, during the rainy season.... Where did you get your infor from...

Google "Weekly Lake Michigan water levels" and you will see the Corps of Engineers site. I just checked and it still shows 6" below chart datum as of April 11, and says that the lake has come up 4" in the past 30 days. I looked at my dock and the water definately is up quite a bit. Pretty amazing how fast things can change on such a vast body of water. When are you putting your boat in?

I think we might get her wet next weekend, depending on the weather.... says it's going to be over 70 degrees next weekend. I'm going to watch this Michigan weather closely... it can turn in a minute ya know....?
Have you got yours wet yet?
I'll go to that sight too, thanks for the sight !!!!!

I'm having it moved outside on Friday and plan to polish and wax the hull on Saturday. It'll be splashed two or three days after that. Enjoy your season.
