Well it is April 2nd and we still have 3/4 of our marina basin ( McKinely Marina, Milwaukee ) covered in ice. Offical operations begin on the 15th. That is less than two weeks to melt a lot of ice!
Any one else still froze over?

Central Iowa checking in....
As of tonight our lake is about 3/4 ice free. I would say two more days and it will be clear.
Launch date 4/12 Can't wait.

Cheers,
Jim

We are right across the lake from Milwaukee. The Sheriff's boat went by our house today. I plan to be in the water in 2 weeks. Our ice went out two days ago.

Well I'm going to Grand Haven tomorrow, I'm hoping to see the Icce all out.....I'd like to splash around the 15th of April, but waiting to see what's going to happen with this wicked Michigan weather......:smt013

Paul, "Salty Dog" Hows the Ice in Frankfort Michigan doing...?

This was 48 hours ago. The ice is still drivable

Lake Erie checking in here.

No visible ice anymore inside the Cleveland breakwall or marina (there was last Saturday). I also went up to Sandusky Bay today, the marinas there were all clear. I am supposed to launch on Monday. Probably won't do much boating though until the water temp warms up some. Will feel good to be floating though.

Why would anyone want to live where THAT happens to your lake? I'd go burn diesel until global warming takes effect. Good grief.

Look at the bright side....you can actually be 'On' the water all year round.........we usually just have Cold nasty weather.....

Here in Middle Tennessee we have both internal ice and external ice. Both cool your drink. External ice is external to the drink container, perhaps in your cooler. Internal ice is in your glass to chill the Jack Daniels or Famous Grouse. Summer here is marked by a shift in drink preference from whiskey to beer, margaritas and gin & tonic.

A few years back the Barnegat Bay froze over and then a Nor'easter came by and the tides rose real high real quick. The ice came rushing on shore.....8 feet high in some places....it was amazing to see in person....

Our marina is about 1/2 open, still 18" of ice on the frozen parts. All the bubblers are running. We are planning a on a launch date of the 14th. Pretty slow spring this year.

Weather is much warmer this week, feels great!!

We are ice free in our Marina. In fact I am headed out to sea trial my "almost sold" Pursuit with the buyer this afternoon. :smt038 Even though we are in upstate NY the bigger Finger Lakes largely stay open because they are so deep.

No ice at my marina but no docks either. They don't get put in till the end of arpil

OK well No Ice on the west Side of Michigan, was there today and it was very nice, although no boats in the water yet..
