I need a pattern for my hatch covers. I have two snaps at the pivot end. I have the materiel and plan on making them my self. I just need a pattern to make these things. I have never seen one up close to see how it's made. Can any one help?

Hi BigBlock,
Just looked at mine, which need remade, and they look like the top cover piece is cut the size of the hatch. Then a hem so to speak is sewn to the underside of the main square. it tucks underneath the lip of the hatch. It is double thickness (folded over) and sewn that way first. It is a bit less than an inch in width, and starts right next to where the snap is and runs around to the other snap, where between the snaps a piece is sewn to the 1" wide piece and runs from snap to snap or just past. The snaps are fastened through this piece, which is why I assume it is wider, and this section does not tuck under the hatch edge, but is sewn right to the bottom of the cover. I think that other than the top piece fitting the hatch dimensions ( looks like the top piece is sized down over the aluminum frame to the edge), the hem can be a bit different just as long as it doesn't make the fit too loose, or conflict with the hatch seat. Hope this helps, Good Luck.
