I thought I would share a good story about a SR dealer.

While on vacation on Cape Cod, I had boat trouble (so I thought). The first day of vacation, we were returning from the Bass River to Stage Harbor (about a 5 mile run). About half way, if I pushed past 17 mph, there was a terrible vibration. So, I limped back, pulled the boat out of the water and looked for obvious problems (prop, skeg, etc). Everything looked fine. I figured I was away from my repair shop.... and was SOL.

I called Hyannis Marina the next morning, told them I was on vacation and needed service. They took me right in, had me put the boat in the water, and sent a mechanic (Doug) to take a ride and see what was wrong.

Turns out that I probably got something wrapped around the props, because the boat ran perfect for the test drive.

Anyway, I would like to applaud Hyannis Marina for coming to my aid. :smt038 They were there to save our vacation.

By the way, they did not even charge for their time.

Kudos to them. I went to visit them about a 300DA i was interested in. Everyone there was friendly and they had a great facility. Glad it turned out to be nothing!

It's always good to hear about a Sea Ray dealer that goes out of their way to help.
I think that is great as well. Good to hear your vacation wasn't Ruined

You know. . .we should compile a list of "good" and "not so good" Sea Ray dealers.

This sounds like a good one.

My Local Marine Max in NJ. . .I am not so impressed with their service department.

Does not look like any NJ dealers made the Ambassador's List. However Hyannis (the dealer in question) is. Glad to hear about the level of service you received.

I was at Hyannis Marina last week just for a visit. (That's where I bought my boat.) I'm not at all surprised you were treated well. Glad to hear the vacation went well.

I guess I was so surprised because at the end of last season I had a battery meltdown. So, I called the dealer in my area and the first thing they asked was "did you buy the boat here?". After the answer was no, it went downhill fast......four weeks before they could look at it. I went elsewhere. THAT was my first impression of a SR dealer.

The fact that the service dept. at Hyannis Marina were willing to drop everything to help out a vacationer was impressive.

Makes me glad I chose a Sea Ray!

JHILD,
I think you should mention to them that you heard about there great service for a fellow board member. Lets them know they they are appreciated and might create a customer or two for them!

Good to know there are still some people out there busting their hump to help anyone out!
