Change fluid. Dexron Mercon III ATF. Got it. I've been told to suck it out, then drain the last bit out. Where's the drainplug? Also, is there a filter that needs to be cleaned/replaced?
Thanks!

In your picture in back right corner there is allen bolt it is metric use long wrench or scoket 1-4 or 3-8 they can be tight if never been off. Under cover is metal screen just clean it. Drain is down bottom dont bother with it scuction pump will get all out.

That paint looks like it's never been disturbed. Could be interesting!
Thanks for the tips.

Carter, no bilge cleaning services. It came that way when I got the boat. I'm the 4th owner and not a slob in the lot of us. I just have to try and maintain it. Not a nice as Todd's though!

I would suggest new filters to establish baseline. I got mine here:

ZF number 3312199031 fits ZF45,63,85 (HSW450,630) Filter Kit 463-772 $47.87

Not a bad idea Dave. Is this thing all metal? or is there some paper element in the middle. Hard to see in the pic...

All metal. No paper. Dom kept clean spares for OSD and just traded them out. I just cleaned Reward's and re-installed when dry. The spray brake cleaner evaporates quickly.

Don't pat yourself on the back yet............at least not until you clean up all the surface rust and repaint the rusty areas.

I am not the patter, just the pat-ee. Wet blanket! ;-)

Wait a minute...Is there rust here that I'm not seeing?

Well, Dr. Pat-ee, I am just trying to raise the level of condition quality for our members here, besides, would be embarrassed to post a photo of all that rust, so just grab a can of Rick's fix-it and go to it....

And, if you do not mask off all that nice pretty gray gelcoated bilge, cable ends and hose fittings before you spray, I'll bust your chops again.

Go check your email... I sent you an unrelated question. These motors look like they were just uncrated yesterday!

The ole "spray can" rebuild.

Darn Ron,

I can never invite Frank to see OSD after that! I didn't even SEE any rust on your engines.

Crap - now I've got to go order a new CAT decal kit for each engine and get down there with the Ospho and CAT paint to prepare for an FW "white glove" inspection!

I'd have to check again but I think it's an illusion.

Back to this transmission...there are two hash marks on the dipstick, but no labels/words. I guess one signifies the cold level, the higher one is the hot level (?).

I was thing mine are cross hatched between the two lines...but I may be wrong...

My CAT engines just have two lines...

Rick - you have good eyes - you are not invited to OSD's bilge either.

Ron - are you playing "rolling sig picture"?
