Usually when you click on his name they actually give you an option to send him an e-mail as well as a PM.

I just checked it out. I couldn't do it yesterday because I was on my phone. When you click the name, in the bottom right of the box that pops up is "@ send email" ! I know that I have received emails over the years from people here that way!
