How many shaft anodes

We do not install zincs on shaft simply because our entire bilge metals (this includes shafts, rudders, engines, seacocks, thrusters, etc...) are all internally bonded. Yes, those are the green wires you see running throughout the boat.
Shaft zincs, can get loose and end up grinding against your cutlass bearing. They can wear uneven, therefore creating an ever so slight vibration.
Your 320DA was designed NOT to carry shaft zincs. I have never seen a Sea Ray boat with a failed shaft due to internal galvanic corrosion, period.

My Vetus 9524 Thruster anode was pretty easy to change. A Phillips screwdriver and 3mm Allen key was all that was needed.
Next year I’ll remember to bring a “T” handle Allen key from home to make it a little easier.

Mine was pretty simple to when I replaced it last year - too bad it was stuck on and a prop fin broke :(. Now I make sure it is well lubed.

Thanks Rusty! The previous owner had them on my 340SDA when I got it and I was worried about removing them. With this info I am confident that removing them this year is the right decision.

Is there a year where you might say you need zincs up until that year, and then no zincs after that year cuz the factory started "bonding" everything inside? Curious cuz of the '97 we're going the process of buying, owner has 'em on the shafts 'n rudders and the big flat square one bottom of the transom. Wondering if I should remove the ones on the shafts 'n rudders while she's doing the hour of hang time for the survey next week.
