I just purchased a 95 270 sundancer. It has the Jabsco pump manual toilet.
Just wondering if it pumps lake water to fill bowl and is flushed to the waste tank. Is this system completely manual? Thanks for any help.
Thanks MM For your help on this forum.

On my 1990 270 Sundancer the head is fed by lake water and pumps out to the holding tank. Mine has a seacock on the starboard side in the engine compartment. I tow so I installed a check valve as close to the seacock as possible so I wouldn't lose prime on the long run from the seacock to the head. You could simply close the seacock if you trailer. You just have to remember to open it once you're back in the water.

I do trailer. So once its dry how do you prime the head. I haven't had it on the water yet. but for now on i will close the seacock before leaving the lake. I see that you have a windlass i would like one ass well. What kind, how was the install?

could you just put a check valve in so the water will stay in the hoses when you load your boat on the trailer?

I once primed it by putting a funnel in the hose end near the seacock and just poured water in. I put my thumb over the end of the hose and put it back on the seacock as quickly as I could.

The windlass came on the boat, so I can't comment on the install. I did download the manual for it online which was quite helpful. I don't remember the brand, but I'll look over the weekend!

The Jabsco on my old SR was manual and self priming. There was a lever to one side of the pump handle that had two positions. One valved the water pick up line to the lake water thru hull. This position was used to fill the bowl. To pump it out to the holding tank, you flipped the lever to the other position and pumped the head contents to the holding tank. We replaced the rubber washers in the pump assembly every year because head chemicals would cause the rubber to harden and decrease the efficiency of the pump action.

Thanks for all your help. I will give it a try once it stops raining and i can get to the lake. I might need to replace rubber washers. I hope it all works.

I will look and see if i can find a tank monitor. do you know where it might be?

I cant find any type of gauge for waste tank. Guess i will just check the tank now and then. Mine is located on the driver side wall in front of motor. Im hoping someone with the same boat and year will chime in and let me know where the waste tank monitor is.:smt100
