How has your summer been?

While the weather has been great and pesky lake weeds have been minimal, our house got squished by a tornado in the spring - so only day trips instead of full weekends until it gets repaired.

Also, got check engine and three beeps warning last week and the boat wont start anymore - so only waverunner and canoe rides 'til SR service gets out there to fix it.

What he said, June officially did not have a single sunny day here in the Boston area. July hasn't been much better. Our Aquapalooza was postponed til August, and my lawn is growing faster than I can keep mowing and my tomatoes are runts. Help send life jackets if things don't change.

Bill, You off to Maine?

Yup, I have a cottage with a nice big dock rented for 2 weeks. (I could stay on the boat the entire time but the girls start to whine after 2-3 nights) I'm seriously looking forward to it!

Cheers,

I think we've had about 5 days this summer (since 1-may) with no rain and no wind.

The daily weather folks call it splash and dash to get on the lake. Go early in the morn and get out by 3 or 4 before the 5PM storms come in.

Yesterday, it was the opposite, rain in the morn, cleared later.

I believe we in NE must have seriously pissed off Mother Nature, and she's whacked us with the sort of weather usually reserved for all those Starbucks-swilling Seattleites. ...............
Bite your tounge. Starbucks is the devil. the owner sold the Sonics to the dork that stole them off to Oklahoma. I boycott that place + their coffee is not that good.

Have a great trip.

Purchased my 1984 260 Dancer as a first owner of a SeaRay and a large boat period!
I have done nothing but "Love" every minute of the time I get on the water of my local lake. Trying not to mention the 4 letter word (work), I have even enjoyed the time giving her some needed attention. The last 45 days have just been off the map with perfect conditions... light wind to none, warm sunny days, calm comfortable nights for boating at 7800 ft elevation. I have gone to leaving her on the hook staying overnight and driving into work from waking at first light!
What a pleasure, I see why a lot of you have invested in newer and larger versions!
All is good, As the boat is named----- "One Day Closer"

Thanks for Asking!

Summer has been AWESOME this year...If you don't count the day in the hospital, over the 4th, with my wife having food poisoning. Haven't lost a day to rain. It's been hot enough to make a swim in the lake refreshing. As the kids get older we are spending more time coveing out, and I love it. Pulling a tube around all day can get boring.

My oldest starts high school this fall, and I fear football will cut out our fall boating this year.

Our first trip out this season was March 30....the water was still way too cold for swimming but the weather was beautiful!

We've been out on the lake most every weekend since then, and after buying our 260 in June we have spent several nights out there as well.

We are now into the hottest part of the year (110º+), but we're still having fun.

Looking forward to October, warm days, cool nights and not as crowded

Regardless of the weather, I'm grinnin every time I pull up to the gas dock (much le$$ than last summer). So far the gen and engine hours are almost tied...since the relocation of my ECM from the ER bulkhead to the battery switch location, no electrical gremlins and my blowers will run for hours....that has meant many more nights on the hook this summer.

The Credence Revisited concert in June was fantastic....

I love boating in October as well, but I am not looking forward to it…. October means boating season is coming to an end so I’m not rushing it. Season goes by fast enough as it is.:smt089

I agree, I don't understand the attraction, I find it tastes burned. Oh well, to each their own, I'm a DD addict myself.

All has been well down in sunny Georgia. We have been on the water almost every weekend since April. But since our brutal winters only get down to the 30's on occation, we can pretty much go out year round, with the canvas up.

wonderful... in a word.... it's too hot to work on the interior much, so I've been chalking up carbon credits and enjoying the boat... When the winter comes I expect to "finish" the interior....

Cold and wet. The weather is stuck on "April." But the idiots are still yammering on about global warming. They can't see that their god is a false one. But I'm sure they'll think of another stupid religion to believe, just like the population bomb, global cooling...

Yeah, I just read that the earth has been cooling since 2001. I seem to remember in the 70's there was an Ice Age fear. Heck I was wearing a jacket last night.

My boating this summer has sucked... Trying to go against the grain and work for a living... gets in the way...

I'm hoping Obama will fix this whole "work for money" thing.

What you get paid to work:huh: Heck I put in a 60+ hour week and have not been for some time. I sure hope he gets it fixed fast so people can start buying vacations homes again.

My summer has been great. One trip washed out but I've made two trips to the Bahamas with another coming up to Lucaya in a few weeks. Met some great folks from CSR.

The fuel has been cheap and the weather good.
