You really have to insert some punctuation here and there Lenny. We are having a very difficult time trying to decipher exactly what it is that you are trying to share with us. :smt009

thanks!!!!! did not know I would be graded on grammar and punctuation. please note I have not used a contraction to aviod using ' . guess I am to used to texting. thank you for any info you can provide. I have been given speeds that seem way to far out of reach considering powerplant to weight and size of boat.

You definitely have an issue...Were you say you didn't want to push it past 4400 RPM's, how much more will it go? If the boat was repowered, is the gear ratio correct? is the prop correct? And is the bottom and drives clean?

And welcome, as long as you don't "text" around here you will be in good shape.

I'm not familiar with the engines, but I get 34 mph with my 270 DA with twin 170 hp 4s at 4100 rpm.

drives and engines replaced as new together wit 4 blade props. will go 4800-5000 but mechanic and service book say to stay within 3400-4400 rpm. each engine has 140hp. was told i should get 20-22 mph by previous owner but in 3 years i've never come close to that. thats why i'm looking for some new info from anybody who can shed some light on this. thanks!!

The manual should spec what RPM you see at WOT. If you are above that, then you have gearing or props that arent what they are supposed to be. That would also cause you to get less MPH at normal cruise RPM.
