How far do you drive to your boat?

180 miles one way, 110 of which is Interstate. Usually can make the drive in about 2:45. Do it nearly every weekend for six months out of the year. Since I've been working from home since March, when my wife's schedule would allow we would go up Thursday night a lot this past season and I worked from the boat on Friday.

Why did you choose Lake Erie instead of Lake Michigan, since you live in Indy that would only be 2-1/2 to LM? Just curious...
When we bought the boat I was retired and the idea was to travel with it during the summer so really didn’t matter where it was. We looked really hard at Michigan city but not much to do and quite a distance to go anywhere...in the end we picked St Clair as I grew up on that lake as a kid. I lasted a year and a half retired and bought a small company in Michigan just outside Detroit, so no disappearing for the summer... At around the same time we started going to Put in Bay almost every weekend...so we moved the boat to Port Clinton....it was a shorter drive from Indy and 25 minutes to the islands

Hour and ten minutes. All back roads and I stay all weekend so it's not too bad.

23 minutes. Apparently, if there’s a traffic jam, we can go another way and not miss one minute of relaxation LOL

28 minutes without traffic and 13 miles. It could be about 45 minutes if we go down for dinner during the week but about 20 minutes to get home. Nothing to complain about especially seeing the travel times of others.

Wow, some folks drive a long distance! I have "tele-commuted" the last five years and become pampered by not driving an hour+ to the office. If I had to drive more than 30 minutes to the boat I doubt I would have it. I am very blessed and grateful to have the boat at home and ramp 10 minutes away.

It's 1.1 miles, which is why I bought this house.

we drive 25/30 minutes, not bad at all. close enough i go by all the time. stay 3/4 nights a week unless
we take a longer trip on the river.

About 5 seconds. Just have to walk out the kitchen door.

Turning the car around and hitching the boat on takes maybe 10 minutes. The 2 mile drive to the launch ramp takes another 15 minutes.

If we plan to go out again the next day I just back her back in and leave the car attached. (Just love a tandem garage)

It's not an accident. I bought the lot close to the launch ramp and I built the house big enough to put several boats and cars under cover.

The cost of the lot and garages dwarfs the cost of paying for dockage, and with the boats out of the elements they will last longer than I will.

Let me get this right. You retired, in god forsaken corn fields a billion miles from your boat? WHY? plus you gotta watch the Colts which we glad gone from Baltimore.

10 minutes for me... I am lucky
