My compass light is either burned out or is not working. I have tried the accessory switches on/off while pushing the compass light button at the helm with no response.

I am therefore assuming the light is burned out. Any thoughts on how to test/change it?

Thanks

If by compass light you mean the switch marked 'Comp', then you should be looking is one of your compartments! On the 280 the Comp switch turns on a light in the compartment under the wet bar. The compass light is wired into the navigation light circuit.

I noticed mine wasn't working too and looked at it closely and determined that the wires were disconnected. I reconnected them and it's been working ever since.

I don't know if that helps but take your dash panel out and just let it rest right there on the dash and you should have access to the wiring. Good Luck:thumbsup:

My comp button turns light on in the helm compartment by the fuse panel. I guess they are all different.

compass light is almost always connected to navigation lights

Heading out in just a few so I will check and post what I found out.

May be just me being a dumb@$#. Wouldn't be the first time (see Prop Damage)

Have a great safe weekend!!
