Just wondering how everyone made it through Sandy?I hope all are OK.Four Play faired the storm with only one torn zipper thanks to Delmarine in Amityville's skill in blocking her way up off the ground.

I am in Brick NJ and my boat is still in water no damage at all but on land every thing up to 27 was trashed. Most marinas in brick 80 to 100% totaled. For MM Brick the boats flooted out of show room.

My boat was in Wantagh pk and survied the storm. Friends of mine who took their boats out and had them up on blocks got trashed. 1 was totaled and two had damage to them.

We had 20 boats on land for winter storage. 19 of the 20 floated off their stands and wound up across the street and down the block into another marina. So far, 4 boats are totaled. It looks like out club house is beyond repair. We still are awaiting the final decision from the insurance company. As for my boat, I stayed in the water and had minimal damage. It was a sight I hope I will never see again.

I "live" at Dillon's Creek Marina during boating season. I cannot speak more highly of the staff there. The pre-storm prep was outstanding, staff watched for problems during the storm. Outstanding attention to detail resulted in little or no damage. This in an area surrounded by marinas on the Toms River that were destroyed. Very proud to be a member of this marinas boating family. I realize that this marina is well protected from the elements, but I really believe there would have been significant damage if it were not for the staff's dedication to protecting all boats docked there. I would recommend this marina to anyone.

I keep my boat at my home in Toms River... I use Dillan's Creek for maintenance... Thank God for Brian's recommendation to me not to pull my boat... He told me he was launching boats at Dillan's Creek, that they were safer in the water... My boat only suffered a minor scratch for a nail that holds a cap on one of my pilings. Next year may be a bit unusual as many marinas may close due to damage. The Good Luck Point marina was trashed and I am not sure how Roy will be able to repair all the damage... So Dillan's may have some new customers... I plan to being very careful next summer with all changes in the channels and possible debris from the storm... My plan for next summer is not to travel north. AC and south was spared. North of the TR bridge will be risky and getting fuel will be difficult...

Yeah! Who's going to be the first to venture into Tices in the Spring OR "the secret spot" for that matter. Shoals will be everywhere. We have a new Barnagat to navigate. Current chartplotter cards will be worthless. Going to be fun on the water this coming season. At least I have a boat to use in the Spring. Many, many others are not as fortunate. My heart goes out to them.

Well my boat was on land at Morgan Marina. Water in the bilge to the hatch. Water in the engine and 3 feet of water in the cabin. Bow rail ripped off, scratches galore, etc.. STILL waiting for the adjusted to show up.

We were still in the water and it is what saved us. out of the 12 finger piers, 3 remain and the boats on land and winterized were sunk in the canal, on peoples property, the neighboring streets or laying on the ground. The marina owner just found the last missing boat in Wantagh.

I was hauled two days before the storm, suffered a few minor scratches at the bow from other boats that floated off of their stands. All in all I feel very lucky after seeing other marinas on the south shore. The owners at Bay Marine in Bellmore did a fantastic job of keeping everything in the yard and for the most part on the stands.

Boat was in the water at Atlantic Yacht Haven. Not a scratch. Boats fared well there on land and in the water.

Not so good where I live in Long Beach.

A lot of damaged boats in Oceanside, Island Park and East Rockaway.
