Can a hot water heater be hooked to the gas engine in a closed cooling system antifreeze application too as well as the electicity? Gus

I had it on my 40 silverton.

Yes. I have it on my 330. It requires a water heater set up for dual operation. I don't think you could convert one as a DIY.

Thats what I thought but I just wasn't sure. Thanks for your imput, I am driving 6 hours tonight to my boat to hook it up as well as a list of other things. Thanks again!!! Gus

Can't seem to get my water heater to make hot water, 1990 310 express cruiser , and help? the switch on the control pannel is on and not warm or hot water. Is there another switch that could be off?
thanks Jim

Nope. If the breaker at the 120v panel is "on", you should have hot water.
Check for voltage at the thermostat w/a multimeter.
If you have voltage to the t-stat, and at the element, replace the element.
If you have voltage to the t-stat, and not at the element, replace the t-stat.

If you have no voltage at all, check for voltage at the breaker.

I just bought a Seward water heater. It has a circuit breaker in the unit that could be tripped

It's relatively easy to accidentally cook the element if you leave the breaker on at the end of the season, then winterize the water system, drain the hot water heater and forget to turn off the breaker. Come spring, you plug into shore power with the breaker on and if you haven't recharged the water system/hot water tank the element being out of the water can overheat and burn out.

Just a possibility...
