Hey Mark - I see that nobody has responded to this and the Garmin instructions don't provide much in the way of guidance. I don't know the answer because I didn't connect my fuel gauge. I didn't do it because I couldn't figure out what the benefit was. I've been using the GFS 10 for over a year and I use it exclusively for the remaining fuel calculation. If you remember to update the Garmin when you fill the tank it is amazingly accurate.
I just installed a terrific Garmin chart plotter and GFS10 fueld monitors on my twin 4.3 IOs. The last step is to hook up the fuel tank. I need the ignition switch and the fuel level. I pulled the gauge and have 4 wires. Does anyone know which two I need?
Thanks, Mark
Why does one want to connect the fuel gauge to the unit?
