I have a '94 370 EC, equipped with Vacuflush, holding tank and a discharge pump. It's not a big deal, since I can usually find a convenient pump-out facility, but the discharge pump does not function. The pump will run, but it does not discharge anything. Seems it could be a clogged line, or the duckbills might be reversed. Before I start the messy job of troubleshooting this problem (the line from the holding tank to the discharge pump does not have a valve in it), does anyone have any advice as to the likely cause? Thanks.

I am not sure what discharge pump you have. Mine is a macerator pump which is different than the vacuflush pump. Are you talking about the macerator pump?
This is what I would do. First, make sure it is the macerator pump or discharge pump that is running. You may have a small round pump or you may have one that looks just like your vacuflush pump. If that pump is running, check your discharge valve. It is probably a "Y" and you may have it set to pump out instead of discharge. Then I would start at the hull discharge fitting and work my way back to the pump looking for blockage OR you could take the hose loose at the discharge side of the pump and force water through the line.
No matter how you look at it, it's a nasty job.

Good luck,

If you are not using it, why not replace the waste tank tee fitting with a 90 degree elbow and lose the mascerator pump and hoses. Use the through hull ballcock for a washdown pump water supply. You can get a kit from WM with a strainer, pump, hose and nozzle.
