So are you Highfield buyers getting PVC or hypalon? I don’t live in Florida so I’m wondering if PVC would be good enough. Is their PVC sturdy?

I got Hypalon and live in Maryland where we're in brackish water. If I were in Florida in salt water, no doubt about it, I'd go with hypalon as well. But that's my $.02

From Highfield website. Extension begins when you register the boat with them.

Warranty extension covers the ability of the tube fabric to hold air to ISO 6185 (airtightness test). Duration of the coverage:

Tube made of ORCA® (Hypalon) fabric: ten (10) years from vessel date of purchase. Tube made of Valmex® (PVC) fabric: five (5) years from vessel date of purchase.

The standard two (2) year seam coverage will also be extended to a total of ten (10) years ORCA® (Hypalon) and five (5) years Valmex® (PVC) after warranty extension.

That’s impressive. What do you have to do to get that extension?

Well, today was the day. Snow storm blew through the eastern seaboard. We didn’t get much but NY seems to be getting hammered. But damn, it’s cold. So naturally, I think about boating. Went down to Annapolis Inflatables and bought a Highfield CL310. I was going to get the PVC version to save a few boat bucks. But due to supply chain issues we likely wouldn’t get it for 6 months or more. They had stock on the hypalon, however. So ... ka-ching... we bought that model. I have nothing against hypalon. I’m sure it’s a more durable material and will last a long time. But I don’t think we need it in the Chesapeake. Nevertheless, we are happy. Now that February is right around the corner we can start planning commissioning day!

nice! I’m really looking forward to using ours this year as well. Coming from an air floor I’m expecting a nice upgrade in ride and stability

exactly! It’s so much deeper than the air floor even though I think they are both 310s it seems so much more spacious. Hiding the gas tank in the locker doesn’t hurt either!

Thats actually true. Because it didn’t completely happen. My boat is wrapped right now so I can’t do anything with the dink. So I put half down and will pick it up in April, once I commission. That’s when the pics will happen. So you’re correct, it didn’t totally happen!

Hah. I bought my Walker Bay in November 2020. My wife and I sea trialed that thing in a snow flurry in Holland, MI, bought it, then she went straight into storage. I also enjoyed writing that check knowing it would be 6 months before I saw it again :)

As soon as it is home, the price you paid is irrelevant! That is the exact dinghy I expect to go with once mine dies.

Just purchased a Highfield 310cl with 20hp Yamaha. Looking for suggestions on how to carry this on my 2001 340Amberjack. The swim platform is only 24 inches wide. I have thought about using the Dinghy Davits extended system that bolt up under the platform. Might need to add a couple of supports.Any thoughts?
