I went out last week for about an hours ride and my high water alarm went off several times... When we got to our destination, I opened the engine hatch to check things out.... I initially thought my high water float was bouncing up giving me a false alarm... I was wrong, I was taking on water... Thank God, when I went in the bilge I saw water pouring in from the hose connection from the transmission cooler to a manifold in the bilge... This was just under my starboard engine. The stainless steel clamp rusted an snapped... I reached over for my spare clamps and replaced it... I have had a slow leak for about a year and suspect that the clamp has been broken for some time... Please check your clamps, especially any clamps that are low in the bilge... If you boat in salt water, like me, the Stainless Clamps will rust... My boat is a 2001, with 7.4 MPIs... If you have the same engines about the same age as mine, you might have a broken clamp too... I carry spare clamps and water pumps, and I am very happy I had them handy...
