Hello All!

I joined this site while we are still in the Persian Gulf on deployment, but am looking forward to enjoying the waters in and around San Diego when I return.
My name is Will, 24, originally from San Antonio, but the Navy has told me where I am living for the next couple of years.
Currently I have 83' Boston Whaler Montauk with a Honda 90HP 4 Stroke, but will be upgrading to a 2000 190 Bowrider upon return from deployment. I have already learned a lot from the forums and look forward to communicating with all of you in the future.

Welcome......thank you for serving our great country.

We don't have a salute emoticon, so the best I can do is :thumbsup: (pretend thats a proper salute).

Shoot first - forget the names. We don't give a rats you know what who they are. Just make sure they're bad guys.
(I'm personally ok with it if you accidentally hit something French)

Wellcome Will,

Your last two years will pass quickly. I remember the day

going under 100 to become a two digit midget!

Be safe & God bless.

Will,

Been there a few times. is ASU still in Bahrain - I kinda (many many beers) remember many a nights there?

Enjoy all the ports on your way home. From what I understand the Navy isn't as fun from my days, but I'm sure you are still having a good time

Be safe,
Chris

Will!!! Thanks for all you are doing!! Are you going to keep the Whaler when you get your newer boat? Those are cool hulls for sure on that model!

Thanks for all the praise guys, I appreciate it. The Boston Whaler is actually a Striper, right hand drive, and I am going to be selling it once I get back. I really enjoy wakeboarding and hanging out with friends after work in Mission bay or Glorietta Bay, and just don't have time to fish. I already have all the recreational gear, and I had used my dad's stuff for fishing in Texas. Someday I will probably end up with a Dauntless or an Outrage, but I would just like to entertain with some comfortable seats and speakers throughout. A ?, I am getting a 2000 Sea Ray 190 BR Signature w/4.3L 190 HP with about 100 hours, is $12,000 a fair offer, or should I up it a little bit. It has the dual axle trailer, boat still has a good shine.

Thanks Guys!

Will

Welcome aboard Will. I am currently at Camp Spiecher. I should be home by March. Hope you make it back by boating season. If you dont, this site has helped me through 3 boating seasons in the desert. It is a good way to live vicariously through others. Thanks for what you do.

Will,

I spent some time in the middle east recently and was fortunate enough to spend four days in Qatar. While I was there some buddies and I were able to take a dune ride down to the beach with some guides and also take a charter out into the bay outside of Doha. no fences, no roads. just dunes as far as the eye can see and that blue green water. I remember taking a walk along the beach alone and I could see no man made things. Just me and a few birds running in and out with the waves. It was a life changing trip that has haunted me ever since. I wish you well my friend and hope that between the drone of your duty day that you get to take in some of the good things that that region has to offer. Be safe.

Riptide,

I spent a good year at speicher in OIF 05-07 I was in the LSA under the Air Tower. Our HQ was at the old Iraqi flight simulator building next to the APOD water tratment and ice plant right between the runways. I heard a rumor that they have changed speicher to an R&R Post? I can't imagine... I was just telling Will about how awesome the four day pass to Qater was. now that was R&R! Speicher is a place that I will never forget. In fact looking back now I almost think of it in a "good old days" kinda way. is the Eagle's Nest DFAC still the best chow on Post? Take care and throw a rock at the old soccer stadium for me.
