Lake Travis Austin, Texas
We are a boat fanatic family from Lake Travis in Austin, Texas. We ( Hoang & Tito) have two children (13 & 16) that have been boating with us from the beginning. We use the boat as our weekend get away, come to the lake Friday after work and leave for home late Sunday. The boat we currently own is a 1999 Sea Ray 370AC, a 38 ft aft cabin.

Hello en welcome,

Hope you have fun here, and learn or maybe advice also

How is boating in Texas?
Do you have any pics from your SeaRay?

Peter.

Welcome to the board. You will find alot of great people here who love talking about boats and helping boaters out. Again welcome to the board

Hi,

Boating in Texas is great, we do it all year long. Send me an email and I will send you some pictures.

Although Travis could use a little more water. I have a friend that lives out in Spicewood and won't put a boat in from his ramp and he's got it about 200' out. He sold a new boat (he's a Nordic dealer) and had to take it to LBJ to do a delivery run with the other friend that was the buyer.

There are a couple of owners of big SR's that have been members on SRO from Travis. Good to have another!

lake Travis

Hey there! Lake Travis is my 2nd favorite lake! A weekend in Devil's cove is one of the best times you can have. Also, I'm a big fan of Austin in general.... Every year I ride the Ride for the Roses (Lance Armstrong's 100 mile ride for his charity)

I'm also a big fan of the Dry Creek Tavern and Eddie V's! Austin rocks! (almost as much as Detroit! )

We live in Austin for over 20 years now and still think it's a great place to live. We can go to the lake any time we want to, it only takes us 25 minutes to get there.

Welcome Aboard, Great looking boat!

Welcome.

I'm also on Lake Travis. We have a 2004 320 Sundancer with the blue hull. We pretty much spent every weekend on ours this summer. We scale back a bit in the fall but we usually spend a night each weekend on the boat.

The lake is definitely too low. Its tight getting in and out of our slip. And the parada of lights this xmas will be tricky as I would not want to be tooling around the main basin at night, there are islands all over.

Hopefully we'll get that flash flood we need soon.

Dave,

It's good to hear from another member from the same lake. We go to the lake all year around and love it. Which marina do you use? We're at Lake Travis marina and we have 80 ft of water under our boat. We stayed out overnight with another boat several weekends ago and it was beautiful with the moonlight. Know what you meant about the lake level, we set our depth alarm at 30ft and 25ft. The alarm goes off let us know we're in 30 ft or less so we can react accordingly. So far so good, no problem yet. We also go out very much every weekend sometime just to run around and sometime anchor out for several hours.

Welcome aboard. Were hoping to trailer ours up to Lake Travis some day next year... until now gotta live w/ Lake Lewisville (anyone seen any water? Lake Lewisville is empty!)

Hi,

Let me know when you come to lake Travis, we may have a spot for you at the marina for overnight stay.
