hi all..
just purchaced a 1998 290 sundancer
might have a few questions for other owners out there if any of you could help....

michael:huh:

FINALLY, another '98 290 owner! We thought we had the only 1998 290 on CSR. Glad to hear there is another. Anyhow, ask away . . . we've probably been there/done that as we've owned "Here 4the Party" for a little over 2 years.

Welcome to CSR Michael. You will want to put your boat information (year, model, motor, etc) in your signature. Again welcome to the board.

hi james & pat, thanks for your reply,.. my problem is that the boat is in the water and i can't get any dimentions/pics of the hull for my welder guy to make me a yard trailer for onshore winter storage..and winter already being here this is getting urgent,(typical irish man, leave everything to the last minute..!!) would you know of any web site or anywhere i could get this info, already tried sea ray and they say they don't..
by the way..great boat really like her... thanks michael...

Sorry to be so long getting back to you. Darn computer . . . . You've probably already found the answer to your question. I am not familiar with a "yard trailer" but . . . my 290 was transported from Knoxville, TN to Guntersville Lake in Alabama on a dual axle boat trailer, just had to make sure it was long enough. By the way, we have a friend in the missionary field who will be moving to Ireland next Spring. He doesn't know what area he and his family will be living in but they will be there for a couple of years.

hi james & pat
just logged on after the festive season, thanks for your reply, what i meant by a yard trailer is a trailer just to take may boat from the water to my yard at home 5mins away i cannot get a twin or treble axle trailer big enough to take the weight of the boat also it is illegal to road trailer a boat of this weight in ireland i would have to get a special transport guy to do it.. anyway i got a guy to make me one and am picking it up this weekend... keep in touch about your relatives coming to ireland i live in donegal very north west atlantic coast..

michael..

signman, a little late but welcome to CSR, you may want to click on the member map link over in site navigation and locate yourself on the map. It was recently started. Again welcome to the board.

Same here Signman. Love the holidays tho. Glad to hear your problem taken care of. We must have permits here to haul boats over 8' wide on the road. We hired a bonded transporter since it was a such long trip just to be on the safe side. All went very well tho. Not relatives but friends headed your way around June, going to Dublin last I heard. They just got back Monday after a week long look-see. Just waitin' for their 3 kids to get out of school for the summer so they can move. Hope you enjoy your 290 as much as we do. They're great boats in my book!
