Hi, everyone; I'm a UK based Sea Ray owner. Not sure why I haven't found this site before but I discovered it whilst looking for something else. I may not post on here very often but it's good to know this resource exists - there's no similar Sea Ray owners' site in the UK although there are several excellent general boating sites.
My boat is a 2001 model 215 EC with a Merc 5.0 litre efi, and I've owned her for 6 years. She's kept on the Beaulieu River, which is a beautiful and peaceful spot in the middle of the busiest boating area in the UK - the sheltered waters of the Solent between the South Coast mainland and the Isle of Wight. Most of our boating is day trips but we can overnight (me, Mrs and jhr in the cuddy and our two kids in the cockpit under a camper canvas). The Solent can be quite choppy for sheltered waters and I often give thanks for the deep vee hull.
I'm not a great engineer or electrician but I have the usual owner's experience of things going wrong, so I hope to be able to contribute sometimes. I'd also be delighted to help with any specific questions about boating in the UK.
One final thing I'd better confess :smt001 - I also go sailing from time to time. I have a friend with a 35 foot Beneteau yacht and we make occasional forays across the English Channel to France; I also go on sailing charters in the Mediterranean from time to time - very different from the constant battle against wind, rain and cold that constitutes UK sailing
