I was just at Atlantis in November, there were only 15 - 20 boats in the marina. I think that they are more welcoming than they have been.

Maybe you keep one on the boat all the time but I didn't see a toolbox on that list.

Have a great trip!

Ski, You are right that nedes to be added as a check. I donot have room for it but will update and put it on later. Thanks, JC

If you don't already have, a spares kit (or the same items) for your mains and genset.
Impellers, belts, gaskets, etc...and a couple rolls of "rescue tape"- that self-sealing silicone stuff.
Extra engine oil if not already aboard. Tranny fluid (if not engine oil)
Spare filters for your Racors (if so equipped)- plenty of em too- I hear the fuel can be suspect over there.

I carry a bunch of tools on the boat- practically every hand tool you can think of including pry bars as well as a cordless drill/bits, etc. Hose clamps of every size, wire ties, full box of assorted SS screws, bolts, nuts, etc.

I have one of the "organizer" boxes that holds five trays for all the little "parts"...

Damn...I read that thread a couple of times yesterday and completely missed it...

Well, at least he's taking more than one...safer that way, I guess.

I know the "gun for shooting Haitians" remark was probably in jest, but... If you're comfortable with firearms you should at least consider carrying- I do/would. Traveling with other vessels definitely makes it a safer journey-especially if you're heading to the Exumas or other "out of the way" destinations.

You can't dial 911 out there.

A gun to shoot the Haitians that will try to steal stuff off your boat while your sleeping.

Now that's just insensitive! Funny but insensitive.

Don't forget the shark repellant!

Actually the gun remark was not in jest. The Bahamians are having a very big problem with Haitians and crime. It started many years before the earthquake. It's not just limited to the out islands either. There has been a big increase in crime in the Abacos especially. I'm not saying it's dangerous and we shouldn't go. Just be aware and bring all valuables below and out of view.

I absolutely refuse to take no. 13 under more stuff to the Bahamas.

Jack

OK...I'll bite.

I went to the Bahamas last year and followed the flag protocol. What am I missing?

OK, it's early and I'm slow. I'm thinking, "Why the heck is Jack averse to taking whistles?" Is there some inside joke or something? And then it dawned on me...second list...D'uh.:smt021

Now it's funny! And agreed. Especially the ones bearing the "Q" banner!:smt043

Have a safe trip.

As a safety suggestion: Put the beers in the cooler first and then pack it with ice. It prevents the bottles from rattling around.
