Have you seen your boat this year?

Yes on it now yesterday and the night before.

Mike

Just drove back 2.5 hours from spending the New Years weekend on the boat. A little 10" snow want keep me away. We keep the heat on and have done some repiping so the water is on, safe and usable so we sometimes (I) use it everyweekend even if it doesn't leave the slip for another 10-12 weeks. Can't wait so at least we can use the mancave to sleep well.

I think I'll let the chili simmer a hour or two and make a run to the marina!

I came back from the BY visit on Thursday and good thing I did. We had some wicked 60 mph winds that ripped off a dozen or so winter covers from thier boats. The yardmen were picking them up and stuffing them back in the boats.

Thankfully, we only had to tighten up some straps but for those of you who are in the northeast and covered your own boats this year I encourage you to pay your baby a visit!

Yes, just took her out last night to visit a friend at another marina, came back to my marina and stayed last night. Got up this morning and washed it. It is in the 60s here today but a bit windy.

I was on it New Years Eve day, but its on the hard and in a building where I work. It got to 50 over the weekend, and was thinking about washing it.

yeah, uncovered(vented factory travel cover) her today to check her out. All's ok! she's in the garage on the other side of my car

I see her every time I go in/out of the garage. :smt038:lol::smt043:smt089:smt089:smt089:smt089:smt089:smt089:smt089:smt089

We went down to the boat yesterday to do some inside cleaning and putting stuff away, and I put a BoatSafe heater in the lazarette. We ran the engines and genset for a bit to warm them up. Nothing quite like the sound of a pair of healty Cats running when the marina is quiet as a mouse.

Everyday. She just thawed out. It pains me to see her all by herself out there. Think I'll send the Admiral to look under the cover for me. Dang' it's cold outside.

Yeah I saw the boat, took a picture, turned around and went back home...

Replaced a water pump last week and then put 120 miles on her. She ran the best she ever has (great water pump, heh?). She ran at 29 mph for 2 hours with 3/4 gas, 1/4 water, 3480 RPM, 15.4 GPH (X 2). Actually was reading .9 mpg for most of that time - verified by filling up before and after (a little less than that, but better than .8).

The boat felt smoother than ever before. Everything just hummed right along. It makes me sad to think it may be one of our last rides on her.

You betcha'!
I just took it out for a spin to cuz' I hadn't even started 'er up in 2 months.
All's well! :smt001

Went out yesterday for a cruise. It was sunny but in the mid 30's, water was flat and wind was dead calm. Too bad there is so much crap in the water, it would have been nice to open her up. All thoughts of that came to an end when I saw a 24" diameter dead head. Must have been 20' long as it totally disappeared into the depths and the water was pretty clear.

We had dinner and watched movies on the boat until about midnight after we got back to the marina.
It was a fun day in the cold.

I a looking at her as I write this... I came home form vacation yersterday epecting to see her covered in snow... No snow and my cockpit cover is still on... The christmas lights and bubbler where working too. Three months until I start the engines... Not look forward to to paying $5 a gallon, but that's the price of a socialist economy...

The wife and I decided to spend the night on our boat New Year's Eve. We didn't take it out... just enjoyed our home away from home in the marina. I think this might turn into a new tradition for us: start every new year in a boat somewhere...

We spent a chilly NYE weekend on the boat, we had not had it out for 2 months! Unbelievable! We'll be back this weekend!

Christmas present was a dual battery trickle charger. Went to boat storage Jan 1st to install it. Works like a charm. Can't wait until spring! :wow:
