Hatch re-bed with Butyl Tape

Did I screw up?

I am adding onto this thread because of the advice to use boatlife sealant/caulk. I used it. I removed the hatch and used acetone to clean the hatch lip and the opening in the deck. Taped, laid a bead and set the hatch in place. Caulk pressed out all the way around. Cleaned up and referred to the packaging of boatlife to see how long it takes to cure.

DOH! It says do not use acetone! Crap. So did I screw up here? Has anyone else cleaned the fiberglass and hatch lip with acetone? Do I need to redo?

No, you're fine. You wouldn't want to clean the actual "bead" with acetone, but as far as surface prep, you're good.
