Hello All,
I am thinking of converting my jabsco manual pump marine head with a vacuflush system. I wanted some advice from those who have braved this path before me. my boat is a 1999 bayliner 2855 ciera. any advice would be helpful. How hard, how long, how much, etc.....
thanks,

Did it about 5 years ago. You will need- head, base, hose, electrical pannel, vacuum generator, vacuum tank or combo unit , holding tank, filter.
the job is straight forward. the most important thing is to have the room for all the equipment. Your boat should be no problem.

Couple more questions for ya.....
do i need another elec. panel in the bathroom? or can i use the master in the galley?

can i use my existing waste tank?

I think the combo is the way to go?

And how long did it take, and about how much?

ps i am originally from Massapequa,
i miss the LI Sound and great south bay. As well as "Fynns, the inn, the out, OBI & even Ottto's. great boating memories.....

you can use your existing waste tank, you need the electrical pannel so you can monitor tanks and vacuum. Figure a day for the refit . Get new hose for the job. don't use the old stuff, it will stink. i would guess it's a 2,000.00 project . It's worth every penny

The system will use your fresh water supply. You can expect to use half your fresh water for flushing. If you are not at a marina ever second day you will probably run out of water. We installed a watermaker that allows us to stay out untill fuel is low.

Look into the Raritan Marine Elegance toilet. My the research I've done, it is probably one of the best toilets out on the market. The flush panel gives you ability to select the amout of water used on the flush depending on the 'load', ie. #1 or #2. The vacuum is actually created internally vs. externally like the vacuflush.
