Have any of you purchased a Hardin marine stainless steel raw pump for your bravo or inboard? Considering replacing my existing water pump as I have a seal starting to drip and they look like a good option over OEM.

If any of you have any experience with them, I’d like to hear good or bad

I replaced one of my seawater pumps with a Hardin pump last year and I'm very pleased with it. The pump is better quality and performance but also a couple of boat bucks cheaper.

That’s what I was looking at. It seems to be a no-brainer. I figured there had to be a catch. I have the bronze pump assembly for the Horizon . It was almost 900 bucks when I looked two years ago.

Just replaced my bronze pump last week with a Harden. High quality part, fits perfect.

A new Mercruiser pump was about $450. The Harden was $550.

Is your boat equipped with the single point pneumatic drain system?

Single point drain.
No air pump
5 blue plugs in total.
Harden pumps reuse your old rear cover, but not as a wear surface.

I replaced one of mine with a Hardin, it puts out quite a bit more pressure than the Mercruiser one.
Someone on this forum had a heck of a time getting the old impeller off of his Hardin pump, I believe it was last year.
I don't remember who it was, but it wasn't a fun job, and I believe Hardin was of no help.

I have installed them in my last 3 Big Block boats and a swear by them.

Last longer and pump better. Win-win.

Holy crap, $150!!

Lube that bad boy up with some dish soap and cram it in anyway it fits. After 2 rotations the vanes will all flip to the correct orientation and you’re done.
I use a couple of wide tyraps / cable ties to compress to get em started, lube em up then just "screw" them in.
