Guess I am Screwed!!!

Regions is a reputable company. They do not want bad press since it drastically affects their loan and retail business. Don't wait.......get to someone at Regions Monday and stress the public relations nightmare they have created. If they also have the paper on the lift truck it is very likely that some "guy with a tie" who knows nothing about boats or marinas just signed a repo order on the lift. Next step is to contact local newspapers in the area and start talking. These lifts don't sell fast so somebody with some brains (good luck on that one) in Regions loan department may see the wisdom in leasing the lift to Coastal Marina Mgt. short term.

Coastal Marina Mgt is a good firm and they manage a lot of marina properties in the area so maybe they can explain the problem to Regions and rent the original lift back or perhaps borrow one next week from a nearby marina. Scott Burt is running the company now and he understands the process since he been in our marina management and brokerage for 20+ years. Also, this is a company that is partially owned by the Galati family. I think Joe jr. is involved with CMM and they are first class folks. As a result, I am not nearly as worried about your situation as I was yesterday when we thought Regions had just hired a guy to run the place for them.

But keep the pressure on.......! Don't overlook the value of referring Regions to this website. We have 26,500 members who are reading how this was mis-handled and Regions is a big bank in the coastal areas down here.

Yea i spoke with Scott on Sat. He seems on the up and up. Says he is trying to expedite getting a lift. I would think it they own several facilities they could truck in another fork lift from one of them.

Regions and the old owner is the problem. Someone should have called and explained the problem and offered us a chance to get the boat out. You bet Regions will hear about it in the morning.

These facilities are useless without an operating forklift....."forklift down" or unavailable just isn't acceptable, they may as well, on a whim, "impound" your boat.....the forklift, must, be available, and run properly.....I feel for you man, what a frigging bummer.......

The heck of it is, Scott is local to us in Panama City....he was the dockmaster at Baypoint Marina for more years than he will admit and still lives here. Our marina replaced 3 old forklifts in 2010 with 2 -30 ft/30 ton Wiggins Marina Bulls and They offered Scott (and everyone else, for that matter) the old ones. He didn't need any at the time, and they eventually sold 2 of them. The last one was an old gasoline powered Clark that ran, but was pretty ratty looking, never sold and sat back in the boat yard for about 18 months. The marina sold it for scrap and cut it up into pieces small enough to fit in a dumpster last month. that would have been a very neat $2700 (its scrap value) solution to your problem.

Mabey suggest the new management lend you one of thier boats,One of them must be a boater.

Though I don't dry store my boat, my marina has 2 lifts... just in case. Actually most of the dry stack places I've seen here have more than 1.

The marina where I dry store my boat has been foreclosed on. I received a letter today and it said a new owner was taking over. This is all well and good but the large fork lift got taken also. Now they cannot lift my boat from the rack to the water.

They say it will be 2-3 weeks before they will have a fork lift that can lift my boat.

Sad thing is I have my condo for the next 3 weeks and cannot get my boat.

They said they will adjust my bill. I go not give a rats a$$ about the bill I want my BOAT!!!!!!

Call a crane company. I work with them all the time, strap it lift it up put if where you want it. send them the bill. For a 40 ton which is plenty, shouldnt be more than $600.

Okay, he didn't pull the engine, but maybe it got disconnected when he raised and blocked it. Im gonna check it tomorrow. Thanks

Did you read the thread?

The boat is on the top level and the building has a roof on it. I don't see how a crane can help in this case.

Things might be looking up. Last weekend was a bust but hope for this weekend!

I did speak with the market president from Regions on Monday he told me he authorized leasing a forklift.

I received this emil today from Scott

Just signed a lease agreement for a 2002 model (fully factory
reconditioned) 20,000# capacity Taylor Forklift at Romar.
Am scheduling delivery from the factory in Mississippi.
My goal is to have at Romar Marina by this weekend.
Delivery not confirmed yet. But, I'm working on it.

Scott Burt
Coastal Marina Management

Keep your fingers crossed!
