Regions is a reputable company. They do not want bad press since it drastically affects their loan and retail business. Don't wait.......get to someone at Regions Monday and stress the public relations nightmare they have created. If they also have the paper on the lift truck it is very likely that some "guy with a tie" who knows nothing about boats or marinas just signed a repo order on the lift. Next step is to contact local newspapers in the area and start talking. These lifts don't sell fast so somebody with some brains (good luck on that one) in Regions loan department may see the wisdom in leasing the lift to Coastal Marina Mgt. short term.
Coastal Marina Mgt is a good firm and they manage a lot of marina properties in the area so maybe they can explain the problem to Regions and rent the original lift back or perhaps borrow one next week from a nearby marina. Scott Burt is running the company now and he understands the process since he been in our marina management and brokerage for 20+ years. Also, this is a company that is partially owned by the Galati family. I think Joe jr. is involved with CMM and they are first class folks. As a result, I am not nearly as worried about your situation as I was yesterday when we thought Regions had just hired a guy to run the place for them.
But keep the pressure on.......! Don't overlook the value of referring Regions to this website. We have 26,500 members who are reading how this was mis-handled and Regions is a big bank in the coastal areas down here.
Yea i spoke with Scott on Sat. He seems on the up and up. Says he is trying to expedite getting a lift. I would think it they own several facilities they could truck in another fork lift from one of them.
Regions and the old owner is the problem. Someone should have called and explained the problem and offered us a chance to get the boat out. You bet Regions will hear about it in the morning.
