Hello from Iowa. New to Sea Rays, been boating for 20 yrs. We have had 3 different open bow runabouts that we always trailered to the lakes, but got a wild hair last Fall and bought a 2006 240 DA and put it on the Mississippi at Dubuque. Took a couple weeks to get used to it, but couldn't be happier with the change to a cruiser and the river. Have been browsing through this board for a few days and am very impressed with all the helpful posts.

Welcome Aboard  . Post some pics of your boat in the virtual marina :smt024 .

Hey Half Off - good to see another new member. You'll have a blast on that boat. We have been looking to upgrade to one but lately have been eyeing a used 260DA. Glad to have you aboard.

Half Off, welcome to CSR!

This board has been soooo helpful to me, as I'm sure it will be with you. Great boat!

Do us all a favor and put your boat's info in your signature.

Welcome to CSR.

Hey Half Off, welcome to Club Sea Ray.

My wife & Admiral is from Dubuque. We have a 250 Sundancer that we got just last fall, graduating from a 19' open bow Sting Ray. Maybe we can trailer up to go boating with you sometime this summer.

We are in SE Iowa (2 hours from Dubuque) and boat at Rathbun. It's the biggest lake in the state at 11,000 acres. If you've been to Lake of the Ozarks, think same typography just 1/3 smaller body of water.

The Admiral is intimidated by the thought of boating on the Mississippi. However, I have a secret plan. After our week in August on Lake Michigan (Saugatuck) she'll be so seasoned that the Mississippi will be attractive to her.

The river is half the distance from our place as Rathbun is, so it's already attractive to me.

I boated with a friend south to north the full length of the lower river and never hit a thing. Then last fall a friend got a new pontoon and hit something in the river causing $4K's worth of damage to his brand new 250 horse outboard. Another reason the Admiral is wary of the river.

I told the Admiral that new boats, drinking, darkness, and wing dams don't mix. She's still wary.

Long winded. Sorry. Welcom to the board. I hope you get tons of fun out of your boat this summer and for many years to come.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Looking forward to the next boating season. I think I'm getting 6 foot-ides already after reading through this forum.......
