Grand Haven to restrict seawall

Last year helped a guy from really hitting the wall in a very new bow rider try to dock. After he left a chunk of gel coat on the wall he gave up.

I wish I could say I've never adorned a wall or dock with artistic touches of gelcoat but I'd be lying.

I have the greatest gelcoat guy around on speed dial.

The waves made him go up or down over 1' each time and he was approaching with following seas. So not only was he bouncing, he was moving forward with each wave.
To complicate matters, I think he was a rookie because his crew had not fixed any fenders and had them in their hands. So one wave lifted him up and forward onto the wall leaving gel coat behind. My buddy and I saw this and we jumped in and were able to keep him off the wall and prevent further damage and my buddy gave him instructions which got him to back up. He rethought the docking and went out into the river and sort of hung out for a few minutes before motoring off. I think he was cleaning his shorts.

By the way, I saw this gem while in Grand Haven...

That photo was nothing recent. The water was about 3” from the top of the sea wall this past weekend. Love the generator though. True backwoods Michigan

Phasma, That was the end of July 2019 for the CSR Rendezvous. It was the generator that caught my eye on that SeaRay and I said the myself "That guy must not be on CSR"...

Not to stir up old mud here lol, but do we have any word this year about mooring on the Grand Haven sea wall? It would be nice to take the boat out, tie up and grab dinner with the family. Let me know!

I read somewhere it'll be open this year based on the lower water levels. And that they'll be charging for overnight parking. Not sure if that's 100% reliable intel...it surely came from the internet...

I appreciate the intel brother, hopefully it’s good to go this year, look for “Record Year” out there and say hello!!

I was downtown last weekend. It seems the 90 day moratorium on seawall parking is still in place. The “no tie up” signs remain. Who knows what these Whitmer wannabees on the town counsel will do
