Got Fox Gateway and Axiom?

Since you have a single slot I would remove the Navionics card so it doesn't get corrupted. Raymarine or Navionics has a warning about this somewhere...

It's likely trying to download to that card and doesn't have the room.

I had issues early one like this early on. .I highly recommend the card reader as part of the install. You can set it up such that updates go to the data card not your navionics card.

Latest update is 1.3 GB and likely needs more room to extract. I think a blank card formatted as above will get you there.

Yeah, this seems like the best route. Your screenshot reminded me that I do have ONE other upgradable device, the ST-STng converter. I'll have to do that on the boat.

The microSD in it is 16gb, and more than 1/2 empty. I downloaded the update to the PC, copied to mSD, tried again from sd card, and it hangs. Pulled the sd out again, and found that the folder created by the online update had been removed. I was going to delete it to be sure it did not try to use it again since there is no option to choose anything more than "from sd".
Trying again..... The Details of the failure are useless. Update Failed.
Round 3 doesn't look any better. 0s left and spinning circle

I think first step is to get a fresh mSD format it and unzip from the downloaded file direct to the new card with nothing else on it. My Navionics card is the same, but you never know if they have some hidden files on it. The MFD itself isn’t very good at files, moving files etc.

one other Idea, can you see if you have a GPS fix, or attempt in a location that has sat views?

also, what model Axiom? There are about 5 flavors that look almost identical. Let’s make sure you picked the right version.

Fresh mSD card, and it still hangs. I'm running it at home, so I decided to take it out on the deck to pickup satellites, just in case it was waiting on a good fix. Nope.
Raymarine support can't seem to do any better than referring me to the update page, 3 of 3 times so far. And then scolded me for not reading the page, by noting that I have to upgrade to another version first. Uh, no, that's for Axiom 2 only. I asked for an escalation, which they have acknowledged.
I updated it at home, online, in the fall without issue. The only difference now is the version, and since the last time I updated it, it's been attached to a STng BackBone. I thought about trying the update on the boat while connected to the backbone, but it's 1000F on the helm during the day, while sitting at the dock.

Escalation is a good idea.

If you want to try something at the house, you could try resetting to factory defaults and try to update again. To get into that mode, when you power up (slide left to right), Then slide right to left 5 times. You can factory reset from the menue. You need to back up the routes/fixes and setting first so you don’t loose the info, and it can be restored very easily.

Raymarine hardware has been pretty good, but the updates always given me second thoughts. Unfortunately, all of the Mfgs are the same. They are little computers underneath.

After almost a week Raymarine has suggested the factory reset. I can't even get it to do that. I even watched videos online in case I was missing something. No I'm not. Remove power, reapply power and swipe backwards, R->L. I've done this probably 30-40 times now, my fingerprint is worn off, and the power cabler is frayed.... Well, almost.
The videos online show it running when power is removed. If I remove power while running, it autoboots every time, all 30+ times. If I shut it down, then remove power and then power it up again, it just sits waiting for me to swipe right. I tried this way probably 10 times. I'm getting more and more disappointed with Raymarine by the minute.

"Computer Underneath" - Yep, their version of Linux, and the R-L swipe is equal to pecking a key on a computer to get to the boot loader/BIOS.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

Apparently I don't have the touch. My wife found another video, 5 gentle swipes left, and bingo.
Update done but can't get partial settings back, all or none. I only needed fuel management data. Tracks & routes restored fine. Nothing else to see here. Cheers.
