Why do you say that  ???
It's not the dog... it's the *name*. I just can't imagine going to the office and talking about my doodle.... Should have called it a "Poolden" or something...

I've never heard of a Doberman mauling a child before, they tend to be very protective of their owners, but not the type you hear about from the drive by media. Our neighbor had a pincher, and although it couldn't swim worth a damn, it was a great dog, and loved to play with our GSD.
I think Gary might have hit it on the head this time:thumbsup:
poodles are smart? I guess the large breed ones are, but the small ones are only good for kicking through the uprights for halftime entertainment at the local football game. IMHO of course.

We're down to 1 dog now, since one of our goldens and our newfie died in the last few months. When we had 3 dogs there was no way to take all or any boating. We had to leave all behind or there was bedlam, and there was no way 3 big dogs would fit on the 250.
Now with just one remaining, a 12-year-old golden female, we're going to make her a 'boat dog'. She's already excited about it....
How do you folks get your dog out of the water and back onto the boat?
How about from the dock to the boat, and vice versa? I'm not sure ours will be able to jump the distance.
Geez when ya package me up that way...:wow:
I just dont find dogs very exciting, and mostly just annoying creatures. Too slobbery and crap all over the yard. I just LOVE hearing a dog bark at 9 pm.
The constitution is one of the most important documents in history, but it has seen better days. Gave us a great framework for government, but it has been bastardized. As well, there was no way they could imagine what our nation would become, and our place in the world. Nor was any technology considered.
I have grown to enjoy boating more lately solely because of how my kids have enjoyed it. So I think I am taking it more than leaving it now:smt001
Baseball is a snoozefest, football is better played on a chessboard, I LOVE women (though only 1 has my heart) 4th of July is one of the better holidays, xmas is great without the religious aspect, boating has grown on me, I have no thoughts on the elderly, I do like cats (yes, I do, they are independent and not wishy washy).Geez Man....
I guess one has to ask, "What do you like?" Baseball? Football? How about women? Ya gotta like women? 4th of July? Christmas? Or is that like boating? Just for the kids? The elderly? Cats? Please don't tell me you like cats.
As for the politics, I see your point. There's probably someplace better to live than the crappy ol' USA. Like maybe Iran, or France, maybe SE Asia. Anyplace would have to be better than here, right?
Thanks for sucking us into your black hole. I do however, defend your right to express your opinion.
Check out the Basenji. It's a smaller dog, short hair, doesn't blow its coat, doesn't bark(they make yodelling sounds), very clean and good watch dog. My Aunt had one, it was an excellent companion.Thank you for all of the replies!
Your dogs are all very cool! I grew up with a lab, and she was a boat dog! My wife is not interested in the shedding of a lab though...
I really appreciate the responses, and the pics. I promise, this will be an EDUCATED decision, we've been looking for 3 years, which come to think of it was 3 boats ago!
