generator won't shut down

Fired up the Genny from the engine control and it ran fine. Went to shut it off from the engine control and it continued to run. Had to use the breaker on the genny to get it to shut down. Re-started from the electrical panel and it fired right up. Ran for awhile under load no problems. Went to shut it down from the electrical panel and it would contine to run. The only way I can shut it off is by using the breaker located on the Genny. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike.

FYI: It is a Quicksilver 7.5kw Generator...

Wish I had more information for you, but not familiar with the WB generator. Had to chuckle though, because with all the board traffic lately on Kohlers that arent running right, many of us may wish we had your problem!

Does the switch connect to a fuel pump or cut-off relay? Might be a faulty connection or relay...

I would pulll the connections to the genny (the white bloc) and reconnect it. Also check your grounds...
