Fuel capacity

I have a 2003 searay 175 with 4 cylinder mercruiser. Could someone tell me how much fuel the boat should hold. I had the boat out recently and the fuel guage indicated it was basically empty. When I re- fuelled it took 17.9 gallons. Hopefully its a 20 gallon tank meaning I had 2 gallons in reserve? Can someone confirm this?

There may be a tag on the tank telling you the Gals.

Sure it's a 2003 175? Went to searay.com to find the brochure, but they don't have a 175 listed for 2003, only a 176, 182, & 185.

I'd say it's a 20 gal tank. I think that's what mine had.

Mine too (1999 Sea Ray 180 o/b) has a 20 gal tank, but be careful about that rating. Right below the tank capacity is listed "usable fuel" of 19 gal.
