I'm getting no water from any faucet. When using the boat's fresh water the pump activates but does build pressure in lines. The pump sounds like it is operating normally. Is it possible the internal mechanism is broken? I have made sure all faucet's are closed and run the pump for 20 minutes with no luck. Also pressurized/primed the system with shore water then switched to the pump and when the pressure from shore diminished so did the water supply. Tank is 3/4 full and filter screen is clean.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Have had similar problem and found air in line between tank and pump and loose fitting in line between tank and pump that allowed air in. Solution was to tighten fitting at pump, turned pump on and off by breaker a few times until I got suction then once running I let the system run until all air was out of lines.

Did the problem happen suddenly or were there symptoms noticed gradually?
I had no pressure at my faucets after about a half second of turning them on. There would be a very short burst of water, then nothing.
It turned out to be the screen/filter that was attached to the pump at the outlet line. there was about 1/8 inch of muck clogging the screen. Once I removed it, cleaned it, and reinstalled it, it worked great. It was a pain in the a** getting to the pump, though.

I had same issue and like Kingsfr stated the filter at the pump was plugged. Easy to get to on my boat and easy to clean the screen

Is it possible that your impeller for the pump has gone bad? You state that the screen is clean and tried to prime. I would think with 3/4 tanks it should push water....and if it were a loose fitting it would leak with just that much water in the tank. just my thoughts let us know what you find...

There's no way your pump should run for 20 minutes if all your faucets are closed. I would expect your system to be pressurized long before that.

I think I'd be pulling that pump and tearing it apart if need be to figure out what's up with it.

Good luck.

I agree Ken but this:

"I'm getting no water from any faucet. "

"I have made sure all faucet's are closed and run the pump for 20 minutes with no luck.
"

...is why I'd be tearing into the pump itself. If the pump was putting out water it should have pressurized his system long before 20 minutes I would think and then the PS would shut it down. I'd lay money on it being a pump issue.

Loosen the outlet fitting on the pump to see if water or air comes out. That's how I have to prime mine when the tank runs dry. Worth a shot before tearing it apart.

Turn your pump on then go check all your lines I think you migt have a hose broken somewhere. Make sure your vent is clear if you not getting any air threw your vent it will not suck the water out of your tank.

+1, I have to do the same thing. Even opening every faucet on the boat doesn't work. As soon at I crack the outlet fitting, presto, water comes shooting out.
