I just ordered two Fram PH 30 for my 7.4 MPIs for $4.12 each, and I have rebate for $4... So I am getting 2 filter for 4.24 plus $5 shipping from Rock Auto...

I used to use Fram extra guard or tough guard filters, but then started hearing bad things about them from all types; boaters, car guys, etc. I switched to NAPA Gold (Wix branded filters) which are top-rated anywhere you look.

Yea, not to burst your bubble but I would avoid Fram filters at all cost. They used to be good filters until they switched to an overseas manufacturer. I agree with Gunn get a Wix (or Napa Gold), one of the best out there.

I'm a Wix guy - they make all the NAPA stuff. There are all sorts of internet myths about Fram filters bursting - not sure how true they are but if there's a shred of truth to it, I'll spend the extra buck or two for something other than Fram.

I order all my filters from Rock Auto. They also sell the AC MR43t at a nice price.

Boy... you want be to treat my boat better than my body... I order of the dollar menu at McDonalds... I only have been putting on about 30 hours between oil changes on the boat... The FRAMs work in my car, which I go much longer...

Hey, I use Fram on my lawn tractor - haven't had a problem in 11 years!

I have used Fram oil filters from Walmart on my fleet of eight business vehicles for years. I change oil (Havoline 10W-30) and filter every 5000 miles. I have NEVER had an oil related engine issue and none of the engines use any oil what-so-ever. Some of my vehicles have over 230,000 miles.

Used them on my cars for years, no issues.

They are 2200 rpm car filters they have a buy pass and can get stuck merc filters have no buy pass be cause they are high rpm filters. Use a fram and blow your motor.

FWIW, I used Fram filters since I can remember (with no issues). But all the talk got me to switch.... I'd rather not take the risk.

I think the issue with Fram filters was touched on by Vandal. There has been some talk for a couple of years on a muscle car site I belong to. Guys with high HP, high revving engines have had Fram filter failures as Vandal alluded to. A search of the net can bring up a bunch of info. I haven't heard of issues in a typical, stock, grocery-getter.

Remember, a marine application engine is considered heavy-use.

I have used Fram for years.

I get the same filter at Wally World for $3.50......so di you really save?

No, but I was buying NGK plugs for $1.60 each from the same site... It was convenient... I rarely go to WalMart, and did not know that they carry the PH35, which is a odd filter... BTW, you can down load the rebate and get $3.50 back...
