Aren't you glad you didn't buy that #8 Budwiser Centurion wake boat? Sucks to be that guy next year when Dale leaves DEI and probably has a new # and possibly a new sponsor! On the other hand it may become a collecotrs item and the value could shoot up.

Not so fast Jeff, if he keeps the "8" it will because Teressa allows it. Just like Richard (RCR) owns the number 3; DEI owns the number 8.

He will end up driving for JR Motorsports with help (engines) from another team; Hendrick or RCR.

My guess is Teresa is not going to allow him to take the # 8. If they couldn't work out the contract I don't think they will work that out. Who knows what will happen, but from what I heard of his press conference I believe he'll end up driving for RCR and have ownership of his team, or JR motor sports with engines from Hendrick. Just so long as he doesn't end up in a Toyota....I don't think nascar wants him missing races. (Nothing against toyota's, they just aren't where the other top teams are yet.)

Junior is a marketer's dream. My bet is that Bud will follow him wherever he goes. As an old Dale senior fan, I hope he lands at RCR. It certainly will be interesting...........

Yep the Teams own their #'s. Like mentioned above, only if the Evil Step-mother loosens the grip will they allow #8 to follow Jr. RCR does own 3 and the "Trademarked" slanted #8 which looks a lot like the Old Slanted #3 may be in Jeopardy. Mr Childress I believes own's that trademark and before Sr. died it was more of an agreement as I understand that the two teams worked in concert because Sr. and Richard had such a close relationship. The BUD nation of Jr fans is huge and I'm sure Bud will tear up any existing contract write the check the the Evil Step-mother. My guess is that you may see Old #3 brought out of moth-balls, throw BUD AND Visa on the side and.......boogity boggity boogity....let's go racing
