Whole new subject, looking for some guidance….. do you need to buy a heat gun to use heat shrink terminals? Might sound silly, but, will a hair dryer work or is that not concentrated enough?

We went 40 years without a boat. Our children are grown. Two years ago, one day my wife says, we should get a boat. That is how we ended up with our SPX210. Whenever somebody hears we have a boat, I reply is always, it was my wife's idea.

I've always just used a Bic lighter.
 
On another note, yesterday I was off to the marina to do some things on the boat. It's about a seven mile drive. Nice day so I decided to drive the Challenger Redeye. On the highway (SR 528) going towards Cocoa Beach and a blue Tesla pulls next to me in the left lane. He slows down and matches my 65 MPH speed then snorts it in a burst of acceleration. Two vehicles ahead a pickup truck pulls into the left lane and that Tesla smacks right into the back of it. It epically made my day.

Sorry, no pics; too busy thinking about avoiding a calamity. It wasn't a hard hit but they both pulled to the left side of the highway. I moved on; didn't stop.

I saw a guy die that way. 300 ZX racing a Mustang on a divided highway, 4 lanes both directions. The Mustang was in the fast lane and had a clear shot. The 300 was next to the Mustang but had to switch to the next lane to the right to avoid traffic. I should say they were going well over 100 MPH. Anyway a car moved over from the slow lane right in front of the 300, the driver of the 300 swerved and lost control, the car launched off the end of a guard rail and hit a concrete bridge support about 8' above the ground and the engine compartment separated from the passenger compartment. The passenger compartment landed right side up and pretty much intact except the driver's door was open. Unfortunately the driver chose not a seat belt and upon hitting the support column he was ejected from the car when his door opened. My buddies and I stopped on the bridge and ran down the embankment. That was a truly broken human being. Thank God some off duty EMTs were right behind us and tried to render aid. But his fate was sealed.

Any way, Tom the only way your story could be better would be if it was a Prius instead of a Tesla. But Prius and "burst of acceleration" don't belong in the same sentence.

That car I have is an idiot target. If I want to really get into it then it's off to the track.

Why use the treads when you can drive on the sidewall? Just stupid. I see these all the time in the city. Next thing you know people will be walking around with their pants down around their knees for some reason. Why wear pants?

We’re on our third Prius, and our current one, a 2022 is better, they’ve LEARNED how to spell ‘acceleration’, but you’re correct, they still don’t go together.:p:p

This one's not in my hometown, but I do see them on occasion. I think it's a severe over-accentuation of what you used to see in the circle track Bomber class when they'd run wide rims to hold the required bias-ply tires in check, then kick the lower control arm out in attempts to get even more bite out of the right-front tire. I've seen these goofballs go as far as leaving the stickers on the tires, showing everyone that they're so far canted over that the sticker doesn't even touch the ground. "Thanks, Daddy"!

My youngest son is 26 and is a big time car guy. He is offended by them. Then again, I have always made him buy all his own stuff. "Need new tires cause you tuned your MazdaSpeed 6 up to 400 HP and tore up the tires? That's on you". So he knew the value of things from a young age. I don't think it is an age thing, those cars are impractical and eat tires. With the price of tires now, no thank you. I wouldn't want to drive one of those on the highway in rain. Or on any road in snow.
